Lipos on sale at Neu
I'm starting to get things ready for another race season. My RC8T is going through a transformation from a 5s beast to hopefully a more tame 4s truggy. I robbed one of my 5s packs to make 2x 2s packs and I still have to make a 4s out of my other 5s pack and I can make another 2s pack. So this left me looking for another lipo pack, one over 5000mah and at a decent price. Decided to check Neu as I have bought from them before and know their packs are top quality. So I found a 4s 5500mah 25/50C 5C charge pack for $79.00!!! Those prices are on the level of HobbyCity prices and I'm sure that these batteries are better!

i hope their newer batteries are as good as their older enerland cell batteries because i just ordered two 3s NEU5000EP 30/60c 5c charge packs. it came out to only $104 shipped!
i just realized this is my first time buying non-hobbycity lipos. i can't wait to see how these hold up in my savage flux. |
I beleive you will be very happy with them. Esspecially considering they're on the same price level as the HC lipos
|
I just bought a 5S 4100Mah 30/60 for $85. Great deal.
|
figures, a sale like this comes around and I am out of $. Glad you all got great deals
|
I got my four 2s 4900's for my boat over a week ago :na::lol:.
|
Thanks for the heads up! I just got five 2s 5000 packs for my son's car.
Looks like they have some pretty good deal on closeout Tekno/Neu 1509 and 1512's on their special deals page too. |
You can buy the motors from Tekno $5 cheaper compared to the Neu store.

i got my neu lipos today and to be honest, i'm very disappointed.
i got the 30-60c 5000mah packs and ran them in my savage, taking two 10 min breaks during the run and the lipos still temped over 100F. it was only 50-55F outside. the truck is at stock gearing with bp diffs and stock tires. also, while one pack read 3.43,3.40.3.42, the other pack read 2.68, 3.19,3.29. i thought neu packs were supposed to be good? i'm going to do a slow balance charge on the batteries tonight and try again tomorrow. hopefully things will go better. |
Well I wouldn't be concerned about the temp, these lipos like to be warm from my experience and perform best when they are. Last set I had in my e-revo would get high 90's in the winter but still only about 110 in the summer. As for the balance, I would check the cells with an actual volt meter and make sure the balance connector is clean. I had weird readings on mine a few times and it was because of a little dirt on the balance tap. Also if it was just the first run and it's off a bit at first I would try getting at least 2-3 more cycles before worrying to much, I have noticed with any lipo that the first couple cycles power wasdown and balance wasn't as good.
If you do still have a problem with them....at least they are from a company here in America and yoou don't have to pay $25 shipping to HK. I would imagne that Neu would make it right if there is a bad cell |

There is a 1.09 difference in the resting totals of the two packs. Hmmmm.............charge difference or capacity difference? |

Stupid question but did you charge them when you got them? |
Yeah you need to charge and balance them before running. By balance, I mean balance them TOGETHER and TO EACH OTHER! If not, it can damage the packs and they are fighting each other.
Love my Neu XP 25C 5000mahs. I bought 6 more from them with this sale, 4 have gotten here, waiting on the other 2. They make good stuff, so I'm looking forward to running them. |
I used to like Neu batteries till I started using Thunder Power. My Neu packs lost a lot of capacity in less than a year with proper charging protocol and care. The biggest loss was in a 6S 25C/50C 4300mAH which only takes back in only 3800mAH or after discharging to LVC on my truggy (LVC set to 3.0V).
Can't beat the prices though. In that sense, I'm very happy with Neu. |
ok i isolated the problem with the low voltage cell(s). my new charger's balancer is dying and threw the balance off in the pack. i hooked the batteries up to my old 50w charger and did an overnight slow balance charge.
i ran the packs in my savage flux again today and they temped at 108F. the ambient temp was 70F. the good news is all the cells finished at 3.48-3.52. so, the balance issue was my charger but these packs still get HOT. my $22 2s packs from hobbycity don't even break 85F. heck, my old, somewhat tired 25c 5000mah 3s flightmax packs don't get over 100F. why are my nice neu packs getting so hot? |
