Brushless MT2
I converted a 9.5 a while ago and had some success running it until I burned up the 9918 esc. I figured I had an MT2 that was in good shape but needed a new engine so I might as well throw some electric stuff in it.

It is a little overgeared 15/52. I would suggest a 13T for this kind of truck for racing or bashing. The slipper is locked down because if I set it correctly it loosens itself. The truck really spins all 4 on pavement and just looks like it floats over grass. I've never got any wheelies out of it, or oven bouncing wheelies, must be the heavy motor in front. Low speed control on grass is hard, it will always try to spin out when turning because of the higher gearing and higher power. I tried to keep the chassis pretty well organized for the sake of less work taking stuff off and putting stuff on if I need to. The ubec sits right under the esc. The battery comes in and out really easily and locks right with a little electric tape (for now) in its aluminum holder. I made a front motor brace out of some aluminum sheet. You can see it right behind the pinion. It puts equal pressure on the motor plate and keeps the motor from moving. It's fun to drive, I can't wait to wring it out on the track. I'll will be running it in the open BL class at the RC monster bash. I look forward to seeing all the different custom BL cars that are going to race. |
BL MT2's are a blast, I can only imagine the possibilities if I had kept mine and put aluminum diff cases in it.

Did you get rid of it because of the grinding ring gears?
As far as I see it, the HD gears and the alloy gear cases are required for normal use. |
Yeah, I blew out the front once and the rear twice. So I thought "Ah! This sucks!" and sold it. :D

that looks crazy but it would look way more neater if you put the bl controller and the ubec one on top ofeach other and triple zipp-tie that to the holder thing where the entenna is so the wires are close to the motor and reciver. then on the other side of the batteries you can add another 7 or 8 cell battery pack(in brick). that would be fast and the ultimate bl mt-racer!!!

can you tell me what motor you used is it the feigao 540c 9l sensorless bl or the feigao 380c sensorless bl? what controller did you use, is it any of these:
warrior 9920 or 12020 warrior? |
because instead of me buying my e-maxx in the future then i can wait till my NITRO mt engin dies out and maby go bl..seams easyer!

combatcm you could have saved lots of room if you at least mounted the ubec and the controller( like a sandwich) sylvester did that and saved plenty of room

I skimmed through sylvesters thread looking for some pics of the ubec, but i did't see it. You mean tape the ubec and the esc together and then mount them on the chassis?
Right now it's fine, I have no more room problems, everything went in the way I wanted. With the esc mounted high I can make sure the motor wires don't get caught up in the gears. Maybe in the future I'll get some new cups for the other side of the chassis. 16 cells=60+ |
Combat, the ubec was hid under the nylon, so you have a nylon block, esc on top and ubec on bottom, like mike.l stated, sorta like a sandwich. If you dont know what i mean i can take a pic?

I got it now, you mean the ubec is facing down under the esc where the esc is now?
