Castle motor 2650 on 5S lipo

Hallo boys, i have a question, i wanted to realize my Xray 808, mounting a castle 2650 with 5S lipo, calculating 2650X18.5 volts = 49,025 rpm. Considering that the 2200 is driven to 6S = 48,840 rpm ...
The max rpm is approx the same for the two motor, so I think that should work ...
What do you think??
I use this setup only for one pack on the tarmac for speed run with tarmac tire...
Thanks Ettore

I've run mine on 5s with no issues. Keep an eye on temps.

Thanks Arct1k...good news!

That motor is only rated for 4s lipo, are you guys doing anything to get it to work with
5s.

Sounds like they are using 5s lipos to get it to operate properly on 5s....

Max neu motor speed for a 15 series is 60k rpm. Seeing that the cc motors are based off the 15 series I would say the spec applies. The MMM can handle 6s lipo max so I see no reason not to run the 2650 on 5s. Good for speed runs, just watch gearing and temps. I would not try to run a lst on 5s geared for 50 with this, but in an 1/8 buggy/onroad it should be fine. Tire weight is much lower.

The only problem with running a 2650kV on 5s is keeping the tires together. This probably won't work for continuous running on some heavier buggies and some on-road cars; but would be a perfect drag racer. You could probably run on some lighter buggies, but it would be so squirrely, you wouldn't even be able to hit top speed. As always monitor motor temps, but with the proper setup, the 2650kV on 5s is one crazy mother and will work great.

It sounds like you've played around with this setup before!:lol:

No No, I would never do that, unless I had a mini E-Revo, then I probably would .

I've seen some videos on YouTube and it's just silly. Plus I'm not that good of a driver.

I ran my 2650 in my Hyper 7 (the one in my sig that had the 70mm Medusa in it, needs updating) on 4s with Sportwerks Autocross tires on ~90 degree pavement and couldn't keep the thing on the ground. The CD is still really loose so I'd punch the throttle and watch the front tires disintegrate, turning with any kind of power simply didn't happen, and I could drift the thing across the width of the parking lot. I imagine that 5s will take that stupidly cool power and turn it up to 11.

Cool.. The mamba 2650 as arrived at my home...and in the next week i hope to try the 5S setup on Xray 808 :)

ive seen a 8th scale onroad with buggy tires with this setup, just after a few trips up and down the street the tires were ready to split. your tires and traction are the only thing limiting speed with this setup. but i would not run it hard for long periods or heat issues may occour in larger applications
