Mmm v2

I got one of the refurbed first V2's in the sale last summer. Are these just as bad as the V1's were? I know they refurbed V1's do to problems and blew them out with this sale. I don't really need it and want to unload it. Most folks are shying away from it because of the refurb V2 label it has.... So do I just keeep it in the drawer til I pickup a motor to go with it and hope it doesn't pop?

CC has said they will replace V1 and V2 controllers at any time free of charge, I don't know if this applies to refurb v2's as well but it's still a v2 so I would think so. I would send a message to Pdelcast and find out if it would be covered

I haven't used it yet though. Wonder if they'd still swap it out... AFAIK all refurbs have a 90 day warranty.

The refurbs they sold last summer were turned to v3s if I'm not mistaken. I have one and I had been running it since November with good results. It performs like a regular V3 and is currently updated to the latest firmware. Except for the inability to remove the power wires(they wer soldered to the bullets), they are great.

I don't think there is a warranty though. I'll just thro away mine when it goes up in flames and switch to Tekin.

Don't throw it away goes regardless of a warranty $70 would replace it if it burns up

Hmmm, lets see what Patrick says when he gets back on this week. Maybe it is actually a V3.... I does have the case that has the lower section next to the fan at the caps. And the soldered power wires.

From the info I got talking to one of the techs last summer, majority of the returned malfunctioning V1,V2, and V3 were refurbished and tranformed into V3 (V1 and V2 only) and had the switch cut off and power wires soldered to the bullets in order to differentiate them from the regular V3 ESCs.

Patrick could you give me a definitive answer on this? I thought I PM'd you, but I don't remember....

If you bought a refurb V2 in the sale, it is not eligible for upgrade to a free V3. Those were modded and upgraded, and sold for a significant discount.

So it is a "good/better" V2 then?

George16 02.25.2010 01:28 AM

They became V3s after the mod and upgrade. Quit saying V2 because it's not a V2 anymore but a V3.
