Your opinion on this lipo??

So I killed a MMM by landing on the lid of my xt8 and just got her back. Then I was remounting everything and then I noticed this might good puncture in the casing of my Neu....i was really bummed. I am figuring its toast as I can see black matter. I have yet to have a damaged lipo like this so I figured I would ask your opinion. I guess I can look into how to break it down to a 2s, but I am imagining its def toast as a 4s...right??

whats the voltage at?

Dont think this is the case but maybe the neu packs have a black protective coating over their cells. So all you did was chunk up the coating, not the actual cells.

Neu batteries use a silver/aluminum looking wrap/foil on their lipos. I think you punctured the cell by the looks of it. Remove the wrap and see if it was indeed punctured.

That is indeed punctured. I'd be careful with it...

Yes the black is definitely under the foil...So do I just dispose of or take apart to get the 2s??

i would take off the bad cell and make a 2s pack unless u run 3s in anything and keep the other cell as a spare. if u need more info contact linc

I do run 3s in my sct's so maybe that is the best option. I guess not a total loss then.

Ditto. I would definitely remove that cell and make it a 3s. What did you land on to puncture it like that???

Desert Rc 02.16.2010 01:22 AM

I dunno, i wondered that myself....it was all a blur after I saw my splay open MMM...then I started to cry as I sat on the ground rocking back and forth like a crazy person.
