connecting fan directly to receiver

hi,

i was just wandering if i connect the fan directly to the 3rd channel receiver, would it damage my MMM esc in any way.

the reason is because the original fan wasn't working and i had to replace it with aftermarket fan. the problem is that the new fan is using a JST plug like those usually used on receiver batteries.

i had the new fan wired directly to the receiver and it works. i tested it in the backyard and didn't notice any problems.

im just afraid that by doing so might stress out the esc for having to produce more power to support the fan.

thanks

No you'll be fine. I've done this with many ESCs. Those fans draw so little power that it wont affect the BEC at all.

for ESCs that has switching mode BEC, like the MMM, just go ahead, you won't have any problem.

Receiver works with most Ceiling Fan models from These Ceiling Fan brands: Hampton Bay (Home Depot's house brand), Harbor Breeze (Lowe's house brand), Emerson, Minka Aire, Craftmade, Monte Carlo, Concord, Air Ryder, Mesa Vista etc... So you can do it, There will be no problem.
