G4 chassis help please.
 

When I went to put the body on after installing my G4 chassis. The body posts seemed a little far apart and it was a really really snug fit. This tension caused me to lose a ton of body pins and eventually tore the body around the holes on the rear. The holes were slightly too far apart. So I ordered a new body.

So, I just ordered some new shocks to put on it and was inspecting to see if I could figure out why the body mounts seemed to be about one body hole too far apart. I think I may have bent the chassis!!! :surprised:

The rear of the chassis seems to slope downward slightly. Is this the way they are designed? It seems like if the chassis was going to bend, it would bend the other way. Here are the pics, someone please help!

I think the G4 is a few mm longer than stock for some reason. I'm not sure about your bend issue, maybe excitement getting it out of the package, or your postman doesnt like you. :party:

I think i agree with bushboy... it might just be a simple case of the G4 chassis being slightly longer than the stock chassis... or did you have a little accident during the build...:lol:

Hey being that its plastic try to take the post and heat it and bend it a bit closer OH YEA dont forget gloves and pliers to hold

So it is common for the body to not fit quite right since the chassis is a tad longer? That is refreshing to hear, but I haven't seen anything about it posted on the forums. The chassis is designed to bend downward slightly at the back?
Any other ideas on how I can keep from losing a millions body pins and destroying the body? Will it make the RPM shock towers weaker where I heat and bend them?

It didnt feel refreshing when it happened to me, I just elongated the front and rear holes slightly. You could also try what swiftneed says... Whatever suits your problem best.

Oh... don't worry dude... I know how it is... but I really like the allen set...:yes: hope you post some more photos of that bad boy soon.

Its definently a few milliters longer and GorillaMaxx may have incorporated some anti squat which you should embrace as a good thing.

Thanks for your help guys. I will tinker with it and figure something out. At least it isn't that I bent the chassis. I'll post some pics once I get it figured out.

Would flipping the shock towers around 180* male any difference, since the posts mount to one side it may be causing them to be spaced out a bit further? Worth a shot if nothingt else, otherwise just elongate the holes in the shell a tiny bit, wont hurt anything.
