New heli ... Blade SR RTF brushless
I picked one up at the LHS yesterday. I'm shocked at how much it includes for the price. It is really stable and has plenty of power. It even comes brushless and includes a 6-channel Spektrum rx/tx and a 3s lipo with balance charger.
I'll try to get a video soon. Good times. http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...rodId=EFLH1500 |
I did have fun with my first heli, a Blade Msr, but I quickly found out how frustrating and picky helicopters can be, so I sold it a month later. I'll stick with driving on the ground...

I would have been frustrated starting out with the MSR too.
I started with the MCX which is so stable and easy that my 5 year old daughter flied it with no issues after a bit of practice. I then went to the MSR which is more tricky than the MCX. Once I got comfortable with the MSR, now I'm stepping up the SR, with which I definitely need some practice. :-) |
i'm picking up the same heli tomorrow as well!!!

this may make me get a larger heli again. I started with a cx2 but it's to bug for inside and not powerful enough for outside. Got a mcx when they came out and flew the hell out of it, its so easy. So I decided I wanted something I could fly outside and I could handle a CP on the simulator so I tried a CP+. That was very frustrating, hard to fly and when I was in a hover about 3' off the ground and the tail rotor flew off and had to cut power that was the final straw. Got a msr shortly after they came out and I have a good time with that but flying in my apt gets a little boring. I'll get some more flying time with the msr and think about getting one but I'd really like to get a boat.

I hear alot of people stating how fustrating and unreliable the CP2 Pro is and that the Blade 400 is much easier and stable to fly.
|
The new SR is supposed to be easier to fly than the Blade 400. It even says in the manual that it's designed to be a stepping stone between coaxial and CP heli's. Now I just for the wind to die down. You're supposed to be able to fly this thing in the wind, but I'm not comfortable trying that yet.

i saw a guy nearly get one at my LHS yesterday. they had it out of the box and i was very impressed with everything it came with. only $200. i wanted to get one for myself, but i think if i start with 1 helicopter, it would eventually multiply, causing my wallet to become anorexic.

do it....get one.... you can stop with just one, really. learn to fly it really well, then think about moving on to the next one (all said extremely tongue-in-cheek....)

Enabler much?
I sense ONE helicopter in your future! times 5. I'm loving my fleet as of now (when I get enough money to replace the silly 4in1 for my HBFP), I own a Lama V4 (Needs some batteries), and a HoneyBee Fixed Pitch (Dang thing is near indestructable, besides the 4in1) I've been thinking about switching to Spektrum so I'd just be forced to buy a "3in1" or something.. dunno... |
Having a Blade MSR was all the convincing I needed that I didn't have the patience for helicopters. I'll stick to driving on the ground...
|
got mine today and i had it hovering for about 30-60 seconds at a time on the first battery pack....i used to own a cp pro....and i didn't get it hovering until the 5 battery pack...lol.....this heli is pretty good...completely different than the msr but is definitly the most stable out of the cp's from e-flite (IMH"novice"O)

Damn you Kul, damn you to hell! :whip: Because of YOUR post, I went to E-flites website and researched the new Blade SR and freaking fell in love with it instantly! Its exactly what I needed to get back into helicopters after I grew frustrated with my mSR late last year, mostly cause I kept flying indoors and kept crashing/breaking stuff and not being able to fly outside unless it was perfectly calm . After watching every single video of the SR in action on youtube, I got more excited to the point were I started to rethink my priorities about getting a Baja 5T the last few days. Finally went to my LHS today to find to my great surprise they got their first shipment of SR's in and had one sitting out for me to look and fondle at!
Needless to say, I drooled and decided among many personal reasons not to go with the Baja 5T and instead get back into helicopters. I just got home with this on my work bench, getting ready for its maiden flight! :intello: Back to being a noob again in the world of helicopters, but i'm excited! http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...deSR/newsr.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...eSR/newsr3.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...eSR/newsr2.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...R/bladesr4.jpg |
