VXL3s Tekin 17.5
 

Will the traxxas VXL3s run a tekin 17.5 brushless motor, the sensor wire thing has me wondering, I've never ran sensored before, got me scratchin my head. Thanks in advance Steve

You dont have to have the sensor harness plugged in, the esc ( sensorless ones of any sort ) will just run the motor in sensorless mode; a sensored only esc has to run sensored motors though ( like the novak stuff ), it cant run sensorless motors.

The tekins ( I think ) and mmpro are hybrid sensored and sensorless escs though, best of both worlds.

i tried to run it before, low kv sensored motors do not like to start up when ran sensorless, the vxl does have a sensor port tho, so it might work good, might not, after all it is a traxxas

i run a 17.5 nemisis motor with the vxl esc (with sensor wire hooked up) and it works great! very surprising actaully.

I run a Novak 8.5 sensored and it works very good. I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

I find the VXL3s is a great ESC, very robust, waterproof and happy to run sensored or sensorless.
