what's wrong with my battery?
I have a 2s2p 5200 Flightmaxx battery that will not connect to my esc. It charges great and I've even cycled it on my charger. Everything works good till I plug it into my mamba in my E-Maxx.
Here's my readings. 8.39 at the main power plug 4.19 on one side of balance plug 4.20 on the other side of balance 8.2?when plugged into one side or the other of the esc plugs why the power not flowing through the esc if I can read power on the other plug? all the other batteries do. I even tried plugging in two known good packs and all is well. when I remove one and plug in the problem battery I get nothing. |
it is a problem with the connectors. i had the same problem with my savage flux. the deans connectors get just slighty warped when soldering and you don't notice it until you put a warped plug with another warped plug.
i have remedied this problem by plugging the male and female plugs together when soldering. |
I'll check but I'm using a TRX. I might try to put a new plug on it.

how exactly is your esc not detecting the battery? have you tried jiggling the plugs while the esc on/off switch is on? when i did this with my warped plugs, it would turn on and off as the connection was broken and re-established. it could also be a bad solder joint inside the battery itself. i had to re-solder one of my zippy packs.....twice. once for the main (-) lead and once for one of the balance wires. the pack would work on the charger, but not in my truck. once i opened up the pack, i realized the problem. |
I'm betting on the power plug because I get correct voltage at it but I'll admit it's making me scratch my head. I'll find out in a little bit.
