I'm using this one, and it seems to hold up pretty well for the price.

I use gorilla snawt. The guy at the LHS said I should try this aussie made stuff by Eureka pro. As a grease it's probably not bad but you have to knead the tube everytime 'cause it separates, a PITA IMO.

hi,

I use a sticky quality ep grease, which is used for ball bearings. it works even under high pressure and is water resistant. go for a quality brand, and you're on the safe side. when it's ok for trucks and cars, it should be ok for r/c.

extreme water or high temperature resistance is not required. don't go for marine grease, their focus is water resistance, but are in general not "ep"-style (special additives/salts).

STP oil treatment!

I'm using Gorilla Snawt too. So far, it's been working well.

Gorilla Snawt, the best brushless grease made.

simplechamp 03.19.2010 08:23 PM

In my E-Revo trans and hybrids I use the STP oil treatment at redshift's advice, works awesome. In my truggy I use GMK Supply Mobil 1 grease, untested at this point, but seems very sticky and won't fling off. Also plan on trying the Gorilla Snawt because I've heard nothing but good about it.

I have no diffs filled with it, but any thing needing grease Monkey Boogers (Gorilla Snawt)is my choice.

Plan on trying it in my SC10 geared diff and 4X4 Slashy diffs when the time comes.

Thanks all..just ordered some Gorilla Snawt. I wanted to run this weekend, but since my diffs are out and clean, may as well just wait for the grease to come in to reassemble

Whats wrong with silicone Diff oil? its recommended by the makers of both my vehicles with gear diffs, and is available in a multitude of different viscosities ranging from primate pee to monkey mucus to tune the limited slip effect of the diff.

Nothing at all

There is nothing at all worng with silicon oils. Some just prefer grease as an alternative, because it is easier to handle. Personally I like grease over oil, because it is easier to clean up for me. Plus grease seems to hold up better and last longer in my experience. Nothing worng with oils at all. To each his own.

I thought he was referring to the ring and pinion.

yea on use a dry film litium grease (comes in spray can, kinda like chain wax for atvs/motorcycles) makes the diffs quiet and doesnt sling off or make much of a mess in the case.

I was using a spray on white lithium grease. It did not hold up as well as I would have liked so I decided to try something different
