vxl and novak hv motor?
why wont my hv motor work with my traxxas vxl? it should, vxl supports sensord systems and hv motors are only 2 poles i think
|
We have not used the VXL with the HVs. Maybe, you could ask Traxxas?
|
it works great.
i have two vxl escīs connected with two novak motors. one is connected to a hv 5.5 in a hyper 10 sc and other is connected with a velociti 8.5 in a 4wd lrp s10 blast buggy. both run flawless with any heat or cogging issue. in my opinion is a great esc!! and i race both cars. |
Wow this is the first I have heard about this combo actually working.

I think the VXL ESC is quite underrated. I have one now that's fairly untidy, button got stuck so I opened it up and took it out so now to turn it on it's a screwdriver through the hole job, told Traxxas and they're sending me a new case :) Ran a Medusa 36-70-2000 motor last night with one no problems at all, no cogging, on 3s Lifepo4.
ESC didn't even raise a sweat. Check your sensor motor wire is plugged in correctly. Does it run without the sensorwire? |
on mine vxl both motors run with sensor connected and working with zero cogging..

i usually run on 1/8 tracks and no heat issues until now. motor and esc rarelly warm. vxl is a great esc because can handle to 200 amps continuos and is super simple, and have temperature cut off on esc and motor. i have race with this setup to and with good results. no need to buy or use mmp or others.. |
try switching around the motor plugs. it doesn't matter if you are running sensorless, but it does matter if are running sensored.
