The Neu/MR Medusa

http://www.neumotors.com/store/page2/page2.html I just found that Neu is now stocking the Medusa's  I hope they bring back all the sizes. I knew they were going to, but hadn't seen it mentioned before, so if I just missed it, sorry.

They stated before that they would service them, not make them. This is pretty good news if they are going to bring back most of the line up.

Nice! I definitely want them to sell the whole lineup. I only own one of their motors (a 36-80-2000) but I'm very impressed with the build quality and overall price vs. performance. Having Neu warranty them is awesome, and the cans are sealed, too, so they're great for car use. Sorry to sound like a paid spokesman, but I was that impressed with these motors.

I sent them an E-mail earlier asking about the warranty and stuff. I'll be psyched if they cover it for 1 year, like their other motors. I wish they had more info listed on them. I also hope they carry the matching heatsinks.

Good new! but I have to figure it out that Medusas' are not 12 slot, their stator has 6 slots. I have 4 Medusa motors and they are all 6 slot. both 28mm and 36mm series.

Maybe Steve transfered his design into these Neu-Medusas ??

So here's the email I sent to Neu,

I'm curious what the warranty is on the MR motors? Does the warranty cover motors bought from places like RCMonster ?
Here's the response.

Thank you for your e-mail. Yes we will take care of any repairs needed. Please send it to our warehouse attn: repair dept.
So I'm not sure what that means. I sent another email asking specifically for the time of the warranty, and when and what other winds will be available.

Yeah, you better be more specific with them.

It looks like you're talking warranty, and they are talking repairs.

Two different things.

I'll tell you why they are fudging. Medusa hasn't been "out of business" that long. They offered a 2 year warranty. IMO, this is alot of what took them out. Most of us can tear a motor up in alot less than two years.

I believe Medusa seen the warranty work come pouring in, blamed the economy and got out.

They are not going to honor any of Medusa's warranties. We can count those "good as gone".

They are probably wondering how to tell the difference in the motors or something like that.

It will be interesting to see their response when you pin them down on this.

Well I think they should get the point, as I asked on the time if bought directly from them. I would love it if they said they were going to still have 2 years, but for our situation 6 mos is probably fair.

nitrostarter 03.27.2010 08:49 AM

I also emailed them directly and am waiting on a response. My question is about the line up and which models will be offered.

asheck 03.31.2010 09:18 PM

I never got another reply, did anyone else? If not, I'm gonna call them tomorrow.

This company in Germany sells modified medusa's:
- closed case
- flexible wires
- screws on the endbell

That looks like a nice motor. I wonder if Neu will do something similar.

Here's my email and their response:

Hi,
I see that Neu Motors has picked up the old Medusa Research line of motors. Can we expect to see the full line up of motors offered? Or will you guys only be producing a select few?

This is big news for the R/C Car market. The Medusa's were great performers and a cheaper alternative. It's nice that you guys are picking up the slack. There was huge disappointment when MR announced they were discontinuing that line.

Thanks,
Cory Calcagno

Not a good explanation...

Yeah, their email responses leave something to be desired. Good thing they make great motors :D

Medusa's rock, I think I need another.
