motor clamp and cooling fan

ok so i've decided on this motor for my 1/8 buggy conversion http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=6678 and it has a pressed endbell. im going to be doing some pretty serious bashing, and would like a motor clamp for it. where can i get one that fits? also, is there a heatsink/fan available that will fit this motor? brushless noob here, any advice is appreciated

BL-revo is selling one, or you can check the rc-monster store to see if Mike has any of the XL sized ones in stock ( its a clamp & heatsink in one, but you can add a fan if needed, just screw into the fins to mount it ).

If you stick to 4s lipo and dont go crazy with the gearing, those motors should hold up for a good while, especially in a lighter buggy vs an MT.

hi adb140275

i have the motor you want to buy in my revo 3.3 conversion with this heat sink: http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store..._series_motors.
and it works great.
The motor gets very hot because of the low efficiency but with the heat sink thats no problem.

A friend of mine converted a savage to a savage flux, with flux chassis, flux motormount and so on and he simply cut the heat sink in length.

But a motorclamp is THE way to go because i already messed up 2 of the 4 threads of the motor. lol

Mine looked like:

and smelt like:

That said, like I said, in a lighter vehicle on 4s lipo they should be alright; in a 13lb truck on 5s lipo they dont do so well...

i guess we have been lucky with hk motors, over the last year or two only about 5 out of 10 have failed, most failures were new, it seamed like if the made it threw the fist pack or two then they would last 6 months.
