Be Aware Of Scammers
It its to good to be true it is so verify and check the person selling the item or prefer to offer them to post it on ebay so you are covered for the purchase, if they are unknown, Just hate to see one of our members making a purchase and getting burned. If someone knows of a such persons on other forums and then comes here we should be careful

I don't have a reputation with rc-monster yet, this is due to being new to the brushless scene.
I would like to thank everyone I've dealt with here, they have been super nice and I have no problem trusting the core members of the forums. Monster forums are way less risky compared to lets say rctech, and only deal with already very well established members here. |
Not sure where this thread is going. Common sense in any remote transaction should be used.
This is not a forum targetted at buying or selling. It is a permitted privaledge for established members. |
Leading???
Yea where exactly is this leading? Is there someone within our midst that you have a problem with that we should know about, or are you just coming here to vent? Usually if anyone gets ripped off they post up the particulars so we know who not to deal with.

Odd thread. Honestly, if someone wanted me to post something on ebay so they could buy it, they would have to pay more than the extra 20% I'd lose in ebay fees for such a hassle.
|
I particulary did not want our members to have to worry : I havent been burnt or anything but I have read some horror stories out there, Again the members here are well established and around for awhile, Just letting those that have ill intentions we watch our forum. Sorry if I gave the wrong Idea. This Is the best forum

I do like your taste in beer btw, tho I prefer Ruination. ;)

Gah, eBay.
I'm happy with eBay, until yesterday rolled around. I sold maybe 3 things, ranging from $10 bucks to $75 bucks, got reamed by PayPal for fees, luckily, I got a lucky free listing fee, for all 3 (They do that a few times, give you free listings, maybe once every other month), but then got destroyed by eBay's $15.83 charge for the end listing. I'd hate to see how much those PowerSellers pay each month when they sell almost everything on fleabay. |
I wasnt aware of the extra fees, I guess that would be a cut outa pocket I try to post for free when they send the list for free

Best bet
IMHO your best bet would be to list whatever you have for sale on the RCM forum or maybe UE and deal with people who are known on these sites for integrity. We do alot of dealing on here and I have rarely seen any of them end badly, because most of the regular people in here are not here just for the convenience of selling things. Alot of us come in here every day because we enjoy our R/C hobby and would not want to let anything ruin our experiences of being a part of the RCM family. I visit this site several times each day just to keep an eye on the latest news, sales, and information. And to try and be the first one to catch the latest sales and great deals that we enjoy on here.
There is always going to be risk involved in these internet sales no matter how you deal with people you have never met, and especially across the globe in far away countries. All any of us can do is try to use simple caution, and common sense when selling or buying anything through the internet when dealing with private customers. Sometimes paying the full retail price difference compared to resale is worth avoiding a catostrophic loss, because of the added convenience of a warranty or return policy with reputable companies that offer such garuntees. I tell our kids all the time that we are the ones who have to live with the decsions that we make good or bad. |

Also, if you ever wonder about a member. Politely ask for references. Most of us have dealt with, traded, bought from, or sold to several other members. I for one, aggree with Jerry. I wouldn't do anything to risk my being part of the RCM family. |

I for one would never trust the limpgimp guy. He is a tool. Never had an easy time with him. I do know that he has vast reserves of rc parts and plans to release to the market at a strategic point in order to complete ruin the resale value of everyone elses stuff. So I suggest you all band together and buy everything he offers, or our hobby may be in dire straits. Just a suggestion, but I hope you will all take heed to my warnings. From one highly intellignet member to all of the rest of you. Stay together brothers, as a team we can rid him of all of his stuff, and send him packing!
Keep an eye out for his sale threads, and I will post them in my sig. |
God, watch James's sig be at least a page long...
