hb pro diff?

what comes with the hb pro diff if i get it from mike for $65? just wondering if it comes with any thing else cause towerhobbies as it for like $42. im a poor arse and need to save as much as i can on this truck of mine.

the ones from mike have the bearins, pinion gear, and shim i think. the ones from tower are just the diff, no pinion gear or anything.

cool tnx squee. ill have to order up a pair from mike when i get around to doing my diffs

The pro diff has a lower gearing than the other hb diff. It is 4.3 ratio verse 3.31.

The pro uses hardened gears inside the diff.

I don't think you get the shimms. just the diff, with bearings mounted and two bearings and the pinion gear.

i was typing that ratio in to the speed calc thing on the net and found something weird dont know if my be i made a mistake but with stock emaxx diffs emaxx trans in second and a 51tooth 16tooth spur an pinion with 1950 8 i came up with a rpm of 36274 and a top speed of 41 with a 5.5" tire with .5" of ballooning. but when i plugged in the 4.3 ratio hb diff i would need 24 tooth pinion to get the same top end. well theres 2 problems i see with that big of a pinion. 1 thats a lot of rotating mass for a motor to have to spin up and 2 mike doesnt even have a 24 tooth the biggest on there is 20 so how would you go about fixing this prob? obw i could be using the speed calc thing wrong to so im a little :025: just got up :027:

You are right to assume the pinion would need to be a 24 toother with the 4.3 diffs. The hb also makes the 3.31 diffs which would take abouta 18 or 19 to make it out right.

stampy 03.29.2006 05:33 PM

do they make the 3.31 ratio hardened as well? and can mike get um?

boss 302 03.29.2006 05:55 PM

mike has the 3.31 ones in the store and they too are hardened http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...GY_DIFF&cat=47

One question. Are both the PRO and ordinary radial cut? Thanks.

Will these fit straight into the E-Maxx? I keep shredding stock diffs on my HV E-Maxx :019: :031: .

Serum 03.30.2006 10:38 AM

No, they need a 1/8th FLM bulkless to use.

You can get aluminum cups for your hvmaxx with M3 screws. Since it's a rather weak setup, you won't be needing the 1/8th

You might as well consider getting the new differential cases from the T-maxx 3.3 it uses 4 instead of 2 screws. (traxxas 4980X)

I seen the ones with the 3MM screws, the stock screws in the nova diff cups we had went walkies! Will def. look into it.

Thanks
