I upgraded my hacker c50 maxx motor shaft

My hacker C50 shaft broke yesterday after work. I was Running My converted Tamiya TNX in a large fence din parking lot, when I hit a building. When I went to asses the damage. The Truck was OK but would not move. I thought I the slipper my have been damaged. Well to my dismay Tine 1/8 shaft snapped. I'm running a losi Xcelorin ESC and 4 cell lipos. Well I had a Feigao 7XL motor that I fried. I took apart the the 7XL and cut it to the length that I thought I would need for the Hacker. Installed it and it worked. Now Have a True 5mm Shaft in my Hacker. We will see how long it lasts. But For Now I save some Cash.

same happened to me i will be installing an L size rotor in

What is the L sized rotor? I wonder if I changed the KV rating putting in a different shaft?? Although It was either doing what I did or the motor was useless. Don't why they didn't put a 5mm shaft all the way through to begin with??

I put the actual upgraded shaft from hacker. Never ran it, sold the motor. I can imagine the magnet quality is better than a feigao, but the windings will be higher qual in the hacker. Longer magnet will lower the kv, not really a bad thing, as those maxx motors are 3000+kv.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that hacker made a updated shaft. I don't think it available anymore. I welcome a lower KV rating. The only reason I used the hacker in the first place was because I had it on the shelf for a while. I'm tempted to get a motor dyno if the price is right to check. I wonder if I could check it with my fluke meter on my home made Truck roller dyno?

I think it would be possible, but you'd need to run the motor at max throttle with any given voltage ( lower the better really ), then get an accurate rpm reading. Then its just a bit of simple maths to determine rpms per volt = kv rating. Thats assuming there isnt any voltage drop, but without any load on the motor ( bench test as such ) there shouldnt be really, or not much anyway.

Famous last words....

Hacker's ad for the 5mm shaft still comes up and lets you put it in your cart - guess you'd have to call them to be sure its still available....

Try tekno rc. Got the shaft from them, or impakt rc, can't quite remember...
