Bruised Brushless
I'm putting together a gmaxx alum. ext frame truck. I just bought a lehner 3600 xl and a TMM 16016-3s hydro controller. The contoller came with a nice set of instructions but the motor had none. The motor also had alot of scuffs and scratchs some into the aluminum. Is this normal or do I have something to worry about? I use my trucks pretty hard but I like to be the one who scuffs it up.

It sounds like you got the motor second hand. It should be ok if no one ran it hot. Welcome to the forum.

Ouch I was never told the motor was used, I paid full price for it. It came in a small plain cardboard box with a couple styro peanuts in it. I have had nothing but good exeriences with RC monster, so Im guessing there was some sort of mixup.http://image.rcuniverse.com/gallery/...s/lg-48626.jpg

I know what happened - The motor was shipped to lehner - but the motor is and has not been used - Mike will give you a call about this - story is 20 pages long.... Have no fear it wasnt used - They were returned to mike this way - you should have a message on your phone when you get home...

oo i see by the box that your running lipo nice.
so im guessing that smhertzog you going to send it back or just use it the was it is? |
If you got the motor off mike, it SURELY isnt used , the scratches will not decrease performance.

What did Mike said about this?

I had a batch of these motors that were assembled with the wrong glue on the rotors(two failures in a row tipped me off). I sent them back to Lehner, had them rebuilt and received them back with some "blemishes" on the annodizing. The motors are indeed new, but they have some marks. That is the short story.

mike, could this be why mine came unglued? did you ever open it up and look at it?
