My 4WD Kyosho SCT
 

A bit of background, this started out as a Kyosho DBX 1/9 nitro buggy that I converted to brushless. Then I extended to 1/8-scale with a HB D8 chassis and called it a DBX8e. Now it's a SCT! The conversion from 1/8 buggy to SCT was very easy. I just bought the bumpers and body mounts. The rear is a HPI E-Savage body mount that's zip-tied in place (didn't want to do that, but oh well) as the Kyosho one wouldn't fit the Proline F150 body.
My friend at the LHS told me how much he liked the metallic blue paint so I gave it a try and wow, I really like it! This is my first paint job too...it's not perfect, but I like it.

I see a vxl motor and it looks like a nimh battery?

Thanks magman. its a Medusa 3300kv 3560 motor. Perfect match for the truck. Yeah its a nimh pack. I was just running up and down my street so I didn't need much speed. It normally runs a 3s lipo.

I love this little (now bigger) buggy! Nice job on the paint. I've been using a similar Fascolor blue, it really pops in the light.

Yeah, I love the way the blue looks in the sun. The metallic really comes out in lots of light. I'm surprised how well it turned out for my first paint job. If you look close enough, you can see areas where I didn't apply the paint evenly and a few areas where the blue got under the mask where the white is, but overall I really like it. Now I need to learn to stop babying it because it's my first paint job and bust it up like I do with all my bodies.

Haha, I know what u mean about a fresh body. I'm the same way until the first time I put it on it's roof, after that I'm driving it like I stole it again. Paint bleeding always seems to be a problem for me too. I haven't tried liquid mask yet, but I have a roll of 1/4 inch wide tape I got at my lhs. I use it on the edges of my mask instead of regular masking tape and it works alot better 90% of the time.

Ha, yeah, I just want to show it off to my wife in sunlight for her to see the awesomeness of the metalic paint before I start to destroy it.
I just used blue painters tape left over from house painting. It worked pretty well, but hard to get the little details. I never heard of liquid mask, but I'm guessing that's how people get some of the finer shapes and details made.

Liquid mask is easier to cut than tape so its easier to not cut into the body at the same time. So I've been told anyway. I use the blue tape also, but only to fill in the part I want masked. The 1/4 inch wide stuff I got at the LHS is used for the edges. It doesn't bleed as easily and can actually make curved lines.
