Has anyone ran a 1717 in a Mbx5T?

I'm getting an Mbx5T pro spec with a Tekno conversion this week. I know the Tekno motor mount isn't going to work but I have the chance to borrow a friends RCM motor mount.

Does anyone know if the motor mount will clear the 1717 case? Will I be limited to a larger pinion to get the gear mesh right? I'm not to concerned about the can hitting the chassis since I can always just use some spacers under the motor mount to increase the clearance there.

I know there are probably better motors for the job but I have the 1717 sitting on the shelf with a MMM and I might as well use them.

I do not think it will fit w/out some serious shimming. My 1520 required some shimming and the 1717 is quite a bit bigger diameter can than the 1520 i believe

Did you use the RCM mount with your 1520?

Yes...of course:yes: I used 4 small flat washers..2-3mm thick to prop up the center diff a bit which gave the motor about 5-7mm of clearance on the chassis..Have had no issues w/it at all.
