Bye bye HobbyKing??
Don't know if there is already a thread about this, if so than lock this one and throw it into the ocean.
Hongkong Post bans airmailing of lipos A friend of mine ordered a LiPo like 1.5 week back and the item was returned to sender. Bad news for all who liked Zippy/Turnigy ?? |
Wow,maybe it wasn't such a great time to convert my revo after all if this is really going to happen--Josh
|
I just got my lipos in the mail this week that I ordered about the same time. Wonder how I got so lucky? I never get lucky...
|
That sucks ballz.
Does mention thats HK only so far, hopefully Hobbyking & the like will have a mainland base warehouse to get around this eventually.... |
rest assuredly boyz, those scrupulous asians will find a way to sell us their wares
|
@ vader, there's a first time for everything ;)
@ neil, yeah I was hoping they will stock LiPo's roof high in the DE warehouse! @ para, lol ... LOST voice : ''if there's a way, they will find it'' EDIT: update from the friend of mine who ordered the LiPo : HK : ''yes, once we receive the returned package, we can cancel the order for you and issue refund. Please check your hobbyking account for updates later.'' |
Made an order yesterday. No suggestions of any issue
|
Well, this sucks. Blue Lipo anyone?
|
Well that sucks.
There will be a loop hole somewhere somehow. |
So there's one piece of information and nothing else. I think it's a little early for hand ringing.
|
I was about to say the same, I can not find anything else anywhere on this subject. Made up?

FYI, they now have a UPS International shipping option. It's only good for up to 2kg, but at least it's an option now. |
This might come into play as well, posted on the Hyperion website: "Recent changes in international shipping regulations limit single cells to 20Wh, and packs to 100Wh." It's supposedly for all international shipping, not just HK Post.
Basically, for international shipping a single lipo cell can only be 5400mah max capacity, and the biggest pack can be a 5S 5400mah. Anything bigger than that will need to be split into two packs (still wrapped together in same heatshrink, but as far as the circuit/wiring is concerned they are separate) that will need to use a jumper wire to combine them back into one pack when it arrives at the destination. There is a thread about this in the "General Electric" section of the forum. |
Made an order monday, guess I'll see what happens.
