From RC8Te to MBX6Te?
Hi guys,
I currently have a RC8Te (pics / vids) which has been nothing but good for me. But now I got a change to buy two MBX6T nitro rollers which both have 10 races on it. Both maintained by team drivers so the cars are well taken care off. A friend of mine (Byte) also wanted a truggy so this is a great way to buy the same car and share parts if something would break. The Q: is the MBX6T really that much better than the RC8Te to rectify the change? Car €250 / $300 E-conversion : €130 / $160 Total = €380 / $460 Until now I mostly bash my cars but I’m getting tires of that and want to get into racing. My RC8Te has the following upgrades : alu threaded shocks, front CF tower, alu chassis braces, alu topplate. I’m guessing I can sell the RC8Te for €300 / $370 incl. the upgrades and spares (2 diffs, 1 diff pinion, chassis braces and the parts replaced; topplate / front shocktower / plastic shocks / chassis braces). So I would have to add money and loose spares. What do you experts think? |
Bought the MBX6T. Now trying to decide on the conversion kit.
I like the RCM simplicity so I'm leaning towards RCM over Tekno. Will do some more reading now :) EDIT: I'm now reading this thread, very interesting. Also cool because I raced that MBX6T last saturday (didn't realize that until now :)) |
How the hell do you get tires for bashing? :D
|
I think he meant he is getting tired of bashing so he wants to try racing.

Stoomstrijkijzer is just fooling around, he knows what I mean :D (know him from RL).

Does anyone have a comparison of parts between the MBX6 and the MBX6T? There are no chopshops that sell MBX6T parts ... sup with that ??
|
try Mugen.com they have the comparison do a search I did and just get the rcm conversion kit pretty cheap and add your preference, tape the tires and balance and if you want my preferance on ca glue is to go with gorilla
|
I did a quick search but only came up with some MBX5T to MBX6T comparisons concerning specific parts. Will look again tomorrow, bed time for now :)
|

|
The site for common parts fot the buggy and the truggy are racemugen.com there is a list under common and pics good luck
|
You have a link, really can't find it :???:
And I got it : http://racemugen.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=2 That's a bit disappointing tbh :) Does anyone know any chop shops for the MBX6T ? We have to jackpot prices over here. If you pay $15 we will pay €20 ($25). |
Okidoki .. I received Mike's conversion set with the new style mount (which I'm not crazy about regarding sturdiness).
Anyway, I was wondering how I have to place the MMM in order to get to my receiver since the routing in the lipo tray it to long so now my MMM cable can't reach my receiver. Looks like I will have to do some cutting into the tray or extend my cable... I have a MBX5T and mbx5 buggy, both converted using Mike's motor mount. Trust me, you will have no worries w/that mount.
I needed to extend cable on my mbx5T as well to reach my rx. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...e/DSC02945.jpg |
You have the new style already??
On this pic it kinda looks like you have the old style mount: http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...e/DSC02947.jpg |
