Any thoughts? About the same size as a Savage X/Flux... but with rigid rear axles; might be an interesting companion to the Flux.

It's kyosho so I know it will cost an arm and a leg and parts support will be almost non existent.

I also question the use of straight axles on a go fast machine and really don't care for the plastic links. The servo linkages for the steering appear that they will not hold up and catch on loose debris while off roading, and the plastic servo arm for a monster truck steering servo is pointless.

Over all not impressed and would not buy one as the other choices out there are proven.

Care to point to other Savage sized (i.e. 1/8th scale) rigid axle monster trucks are out there?

And since it is a MONSTER truck, speed isn't everything.

Do you want the type that have the motor attached to each axle, or the standard solid axle that uses driveshafts from a center transmission with one motor...or does it matter at all?

If it doesn't matter, you can get the Tamiya Clod Buster, TXT-1, TLT-1, XTM X-Crawler, RedCat RockSlide, Custom-Built Solid-Axle Truck from RC4WD.com, Custom-Built Solid-Axle E-Maxx (many examples & how-toes, like on RCCrawler.com), or one of the many others (Google)...

I don't much care for MoA, which tosses out most of the Clod/TXT/TLT based trucks, which was why I was more interested in the Kyosho.

XTM and RedCat don't have any better, really worse, part support than Kyosho that I've seen.

I think it's pretty neat, but the parts support thing is definitely an issue. I had looked at converting one of the nitro ones, but the parts support kind of turned me off, and wasn't sure how the chain drive would work out.

I think it would be a fun vehicle to play around with. Kind of like that Redcat Groundpounder one of the other members has. Not really an extreme basher, but if you like the solid axle design and how they perform then it doesn't matter. People tend to say "well there are better things out there" but the only thing that matters is what you like. Not every vehicle has to be the best or most capable, it just has to be a project you are interested in and enjoy.

I was a bit disappointed looking at the steering assembly and a few other turnbuckles on the vehicle, they look pretty flimsy like skinny threaded rod. Probably need to get some real turnbuckles/links like lunsford for the steering. Kyosho seems notorious for that, even using a piece of bent wire in a 1/8 buggy!?!?

I would take the TXT over this any day if looking into solid axle. Better looking, better parts support, better company.

Kyosho always does this, too little, too late, doesn't perform as well as competitors, and over prices. Just look at their rock crawler....................and the original twin force for that matter.

i have a twin force, its a tank, its 10 years old, its been used with many diffrent brushless setup and been in some of the worst rc crashes i have ever seen,in 10 years the only part to fail was a warped top shaft that sill worked but has a nasty looking wobble to it.

its a tried and true truck, its not going to win many races but i has out lasted every other rc in my group of freind.

yup its my old truck and boy did i crash it good lol. also amain has a lot of the parts for it.

Never owned it but drove one. I was so bored after about 30 seconds I saw no need to buy it. I had nikko's that were unbreakable too, but still not entertaining.

TexasSP; Just because "you" didn't like it, that doesn't mean it is a bad truck, or that no one else will like it. I am not trying to start a war here, but your negativity is running rampant on this forum, and I am sure everyone here would appreciate it if you would just chill a little bit.

I'll chip in on this one, if you want a true MT go for the TXT. it's a great durable truck,parts are everywhere,there's alot of aftermarket support and they are cheap,I mean he'll, why not just get a wheely king and buy some RC4WD parts to make a bad ass truck! Either way,I think you'll be better off than getting the kyosho--Josh

thats cool, so you didnt like driveing it, doesnt make it a bad truck, honestly i dont like driveing my brushless revo platinum, alot of people love them but i spent alot on is so there is no reason to sell it.

personaly i like the twin force it doesnt handle the best but its better than an emaxx (search twin force and you can find afew comparsions between it and the maxx) its alot lighter than most 1/8 scale trucks and it jumps great.

as for week searing linkage, thats not true, other than the little bit of rust its just as good as the day it was new.

go crash a nikko into a tree at 40mph and let me know how it comes out, then do it 10 more times that day, thats the live my TF went threw before i go it

hey your making me look bad, i didnt crash it that bad. they are great trucks, i liked it a lot more than my txt.
