Here is my LST2 conversion I have been tweaking for a very long time. I am finally happy where it is at. Mods are:
TDR mount and single speed RPM arms Lunsford throughout Losi FOC with gear swap Losi hardcoated plates all around Castle MMM Castle 1717 Proline tires and wheels 17mm hubs Dynamite carriers, spindles, hubs, steering, and brace Losi wing Zippy 6s batteries There's probably a few things I forgot, but here are the pics. Now I need to get out and run it. -JB |
clean looking truck. you didnt do anything with the steering slop?
|
Nice looking truck! I'm debating on getting an LST because of all the hype about them here lately--Josh

Thanks guys! The steering slop hasn't been an issue. I pulled out the servo savers and replaced them with standard arms. I also replaced the bushings on the draglink with bearings. That really tightened everything up.

amazing build. looks great!!
Jailbird, i am wanting to do a monster truck conversion in the future. can anyone tell me which truck is the largest? the LST2, the Aftershock, or the Muggy? and which is the best conversion candidate. not trying to hi-jack your thread but thought i would ask since you might know. |
Thanks Ryu! The LST2 adn the Aftershock are the same vehicle. The LST2 just has more options. I'm not sure about the wheelbase of the Muggy, I think it's pretty damn close. If you want something big, go for the LST XXL. It's the same as the LST2 with a 30mm strech in the chassis. You can always look for a used LST2 and buy the chassis, side rails, and center driveshafts from a parts chopper on ebay. the LST2 to XXL conversion should cost you about $30-$40. The batteries will also fit better on the XXL chassis. I had to design and machine a 2pc battery tray to keep the batts away from the spur. I know Mike has a nice tray here but I haven't had a chance to try one yet.
I'm still thinking about converting my other LST2 and useing a slipperential if I can't trade it for a Muggy. It would use a custom chassis, skid plate, and center diff mount. -JB |
Man, I love Losi's Titanium-Nitride (Ti-Ni) coated gears...I wish more companies Ti-Ni coated more of their parts.
