HYPOTHETICAL Savage FLUX race set up
OK, I have been racing my savage flux for the past year at eliminator, and Am doing it again this weekend, its an official race, not just a BS race for fun, trophy's, etc, ANYWAYS.
Here are some facts That I have found out from some bashers, AND racers. List: 1.KEEP YOUR Center Of Gravity LOW! 2. Make it so that when you drop the truck from 2 feet, the dog-bones should be level, when the truck rebounds up. 3. Take off the wheelie bar. Good for controlling wheelies, yes, but makes a weighed incentive to make it WANT to wheelies, no pun intended on the weighted part. 4.get the HPI NUBZ tires, or any other kind of pin tires. 5. put the suspension to the closest hole towards the middle, it will eliminate sway, a little bit 6. buy the HPI Sway bar kit for the savage. 7. get a cool body 8. get off theese forums, and go race |
if you want to be competitive with a savage you need to use the HPI Savage suspension conversion...

nah, that only upgrades the wheel linkages, which I already have. I have them why? cause I won them woth this set-up! lol. it is a good idea yes, but if i may, it is just for the nitro savage, it works well with the flux yes, but better for the nitro, but i COMPLETELY inderstand what your trying to say. and in essence yes it is a good idea

sorry i am a little confused?
Are you saying they work better with the nitro savage than a flux? If you are talking about a savage flux race setup... It is most definitely a vital upgrade in order for a savage to have any sort of chance to keep up with truggys on a track. It increases your steering throw in turns, so tighter turns can be negotiated. The removal of the rear tie rods remove slop from the rear wheels. The LCG created by the lower adjustable upper arms also helps with handling. They work exactly the same way on a flux and a nitro... And they benefit both in exactly the same way... Gd luck at the races!!! I dont think i have seen pics of your truck... could you post some? IMO this is one of the finest race set up savages. It is freddys from HPISF... Its fully carbon fibre RSC Conversion Lightest wheel/tire combo very LCG with shorter Shock towers and truggy style suspension and LCG Handle http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/u...x/DSC_0435.jpg http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/u...x/DSC_0429.jpg |
