Mamba Max Problem ??
Well my 3s lipo finally crapped out. (Got real puffy after a run; don't even dare myself use it now) So I took out one of the 2s lipo from my E-Revo and put it on the slash 4x4. My Setup is Slash 4X4 PE, 3PM 2.4Ghz, 2S Lipo Zippy 4300MAH, Mamba Max Esc, CC BEC, Medusa 36-50-3300KV 5mm.
So the problem is some sort of cutout, IDK if its the esc, motor, radio problem. When I give it throtle it seems like the esc is overheating or something blinks the lights a couple times and throtle returns. What's wrong?? |
maybe you forgot to change your lvc?
what brand was the battery that you puffed? |
Nope its not the LVC I changed it to 6.0V for 2S Lipo. (Unless I need to change it on the CC BEC too in that case I need to buy a castle link) The battery that puffed is a Zippy. Same brand and MAH as the 2S.

the fact that you puffed a battery, didn't change your setup, and are now having problems with a second battery lead me to believe you have some driveline binding or have possibly overheated the motor causing demagnetization.
could you try the second battery out of your e-revo and see if the same thing happens? it could possibly just be a connector........... |
Sorry for the late reply, I have been kind of busy. Well I tried out my other E-Revo battery and it works perfectly now. So the problem is the 2S Lipo, but what would cause it to act like this? (It was acting kind of strange when I had them both in the E-Revo the LVC was going on after about 3 mins of run time. I thought it was just the cheap traxxas EVX-2 or the NOVAK LVC.) So now is this fixable?
And about the battery that puffed it was on its way don't think it was any binding issues in the driveline. Last summer my dad was driving my Rustler and crashed at about 50MPH and the batery got hit pretty bad ever since then I noticed the battery was just a little bit puffy, so I knew sooner or later it was going to die. |
Did you try the 2s lipo with the lvc turned off, just to see if the same problem occurred or not? That would give an idea if it was the esc or lipo that was playing up for sure. Though, you've now tired a different lipo again ( 3s? ) and you dont get any issues with the lvc turned on?
I'd suspect its the 2s lipo dropping its voltage under load- what leds do you get when it blinks, then check those against this: clicky |
It's the 2S Lipo for sure. I connected it to my charger and while discharging it I noticed the voltage was dropping from 7.8v to 7.4v. And it also only discharged 843MAH and the battery is 4300MAH. Does that mean one of the cell is bad?
|
Could be an indication. When the lipo is fully charged, let it sit for a few days and re-check the individual cell voltages; of one has dropped by more than a few mv compared to the other, then thats a weak/ dying cell.
