Anybody tried Tekin RX8 in E-maxx

Anyone have experience with the Tekin 2000 kv. truggy combo in an E-maxx?

Will it run cooler and more smooth than the Mamba Monster that came with the truck?

Well never had any replies on this, so here is the answer

Actually I didn't expect a very big change, going from the MMM/2200 combo to the Tekin RX8/2000 kv combo.

But I was wrong. The truck runs way smoother than before, and still with plenty of power. I run it on 4 and 5s lipo and with a 68/22 gearing. Perfect basher material

Sorry

Sorry I never saw the thread before. And actually I was in California on a remodel project when you posted the question, so I was out of touch internet wise for 6 weeks. Anyway there have been a few guys around here who have done a similar setup. Lito in Japan has a few of the RX8 setups, and really seems to like them a lot. I believe he has one setup in a G3R that works incredibly well compared to some of the alternatives. It sounds like a good substitute for the MMM. Plus Tekin has an indefinite 50% sale for military folks, which we love. Glad to hear that your testing worked out well.

What? Tekin sells their RX8 systems for 50% off to military personell? So someone can just get a military friend to buy all their Tekin stuff for them?

Possible

Anything is possible. All I know for sure is that they require proof in the form of a copy of your military ID in order to qualify. Tekin is going to great lengths to show its appreciation for what the troops are doing for our country. What are you doing?

Excuse me? I wasn't bashing them in any way whatsoever, I was simply asking about the tekin military deal, yet you are asking what I'm doing for your country?

And I live in Norway.

Not personal

I was not looking to turn this into a personal attack, or a battle with any other country. Just making the point that the Tekin sale is for all US Military personell period. So to answer your question, no I do not think it was meant for people to use their military friends in that fassion.

I'll be installing a Tekin2000kv and MMP in my Emaxx to try on 4s...

I gotta have CC in there, I just want to try out the sensored capabilities. But this setup will likely end up in my Revo I'm converting to a low speed crawler, basher. The Emaxx will then get a Tekin1700/MMM on 6s.

Jerry is correct. I have a Tekin RX8/2000motor combo on my G3 and it works a lot smoother compared to the MMM/Castle motor. I still keep the CC stuff for spares.

The Tekin military discount uses honor system after proving you're in the US military (Reserves/Active duty/Retired) by either a copy of your military ID and/or sending them an email through your military email address. Whatever you buy from them at a discount is strcitly for personal use only. I had other guys in our command avail themselves of the discount but no one uses it for their non-military friends or sell it for a porfit. I think I made it clear to them not to take advantage of it or else I'll put them on report myself for lying.

Dang, I can't wait until this deployment is over so I can play with my trucks again.
