changing from nitro to brushless.

i have a full blown ue supermaxx. it has a vbs set, racerx, spider 6s,6mm axles, ue shocks, strobe limiters etc... i have a jt racing chassis for it. i am looking to put one of mikes center diffs with the brushless motor mount.

can anyone tell me which one will fit?

can i take off the top plate and just put traxxas 7075 turnbuckles or pushrods running from the center diff to the vbs top mount i have seen it done with other trucks.

also i am looking for a set of sun 7s rims if any one can lmk where i can find a set of those or if you have a set you can sell me or trade me.

here are some pics of the truck right now.

i almost forgot

i am going to be running a tekin rx8 2050kv motor. 2 3s lipos. i wanna do about 40 45 mph. can anyonw help me out on the gearing

The biggest spur you can fit with Mike's mount is a 48 (without modification).

I wouldn't go with any smaller pinion than 12t (there just isn't good mesh w/ smaller pinions).

With the 2050/kv motor on 6s with bowtie tires(typical truck racing tire) and 12/48 gearing you would be geared for 67mph. Way too fast.

There are two problems I see:

1. The 2050/kv tekin motor is a buggy motor. For a maxx you want a truggy motor, and specifically for your setup, one with a lower kv.

2. UE super diffs. "UE" diffs are just relabeled ofna buggy diffs. This lower buggy ratio was meant for use with a center diff and buggy size tires. With a maxx transmission there is enough gear reduction to use "UE" buggy diffs, but when you switch to a center diff "UE" diffs are geared a little high.

The solution:

Get the 1700/kv tekin TRUGGY motor. On 6s with bowties and 12/48 gearing you will be geared for 47mph.

hey, thanks alot paralyzed.

i was reading some other threads and another member said that there was a chart for gearing.
could you tell me where i can find it or maybe give me a link to it.

for the center diff is the - ofna habao st pro spider diff - good for what set up i am using.

hear is the gearing app: http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/index.html

It is found in the first sticky in the brushless section.

It was all written by BrianG, a moderator here. Just start clickinmg around in it. It's all drop down menus and super easy to use, and very very helpful.

That ofna spider diff should work great. I'd start with 10,000wt oil in it and adjust from there.
