crt.5 gearing

HI
I'm building a new crt.5 for only track use. The race track is medium sized for 1/8 offroaders. My esc is tekin r1 and motor is Neu 1409/1y (3600kv) . I assume 2s with a bit tall gearing will be enough for proper speed and torque but I can use 3s too if it's necessary. Ambiance temperatur is 95 fahrenheit around here so I'dont want too have heat issues. What should be a proper gearing for me on 2s? I can use 3s and low gearing for lowering the heat but I'm afraid of controlling the car because of high torque.

Isn't there any brushless crt.5 users? I saw on allmost every signature a crt.5 on this forum..

I'm running a 14T pinion with a 3000KV motor on 3S (Novak HV7.5).

So adjusting for your different KV (3600 vs 3000) and voltage (2S vs 3S) that would say to start with a 17T pinion (assuming stock size spur gear).

The CRT.5 is pretty heavy for its size, so running a high enough kv motor for 2s tends to run hotter because of the extra current. I tried a CC 4600 on 2s and couldn't keep it satisfactorily cool no matter what gearing I ran. Since then, I've moved to a Medusa 3300 motor on 3s and it runs MUCH MUCH cooler and has more power to boot.

BTW: I have a RTR CRT.5 for sale right now if you haven't gotten one yet: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27757

Thanks for the info. I bought a brand new crt.5 pro from e-bay for 99 bucks:)
Brian I think you should wait until they are out of stock before you sell yours for a reasonable price:)
