Met Monster Mike in the flesh :)

Sunday I took a 2 hour trek to Barnstormers Rc raceway in Chester NY, I decided to give Mike a call and see if he was around. He was and told me he was going to come down to the Barn and meet me.

Day went on and I cruised back into the pits(indoor pits) the Monster was standing at my pit table! Greeted and chit- chatted about various things then he told me he was going to stay and watch me race... Thats when I got nervous:oops:
Made sure my truck was together and tight and went out and tried to just run the same way I always do.. So much for that..:oh:

Buzzer sounded and I made it into turn one first, and led the first two laps aways infront of the pack.. then my nervous fingers got to me and I smacked into a rail tie holding the pipe.. when the marshal flipped my truck over only one wheel was steering... So I ran down (off the driver stand) and checked the truck, only a ball cup popped off popped it back on and booked back to the stand... When I got back I was a lap down in 3rd to last...

Turned the burners on and started tearing up the feild, worked my way through the pack twice and ended up finishing 3rd with fastest lap of the heat!

Mike was impressed with the finish after my mishap.

Cant wait for the bash,
Thank you Mike for your support and putting up with my shenanigans!:party::intello:

Your so lucky. Mike sounds like a really down to earth guy. Plus he's always been nice to me in his e-mails! I wish I could meet him

I'm trying to make it. its only an hour from my house. The only thing that I have that I can run on the track is my hyper st and I need some smaller wheels. I'm currently running hpi terra pins and i don't think they'll do well on the track.

I always have that with my summerjob. When the boss is watching me work I screw up everything :)

@ bigboi146, go anyway if only it's to meet everyone, sounds like fun. Besides maybe someone else can help you with a set of tires.

Tires are not an issue can bring a set of bowties for you.

It's a bring what you have kind of day. It's all good fun.

The Senior Monster is a very down to earth guy, very laid back. We had a few phone conversations ranging from Castle products to religeon and he's a pleasure to chat with, would like to meet the man behind the forum and these great products myself. I was hopeing to make the journey to the bash but after crunching numbers (fuel cost, hotel, beer&food etc) I just cant justify the expense. Bummer

nice to see an owner of a company/business willing to take the time and talk to all and is down to earth.

Besides, he is more of an rc addict than we are!
