Left rear of mini crawler does not pull positively

I recently bought a used losi mini crawler, and so far I love it. I seem to have a problem with it, though. Aren't both the front and rear supposed to be locked? My front is fully locked, both wheels pull all the time, and you cannot spin an individual side independently without turning the whole drivetrain. My left rear, however, I can grab with a hand, and spin it independently of the rest of the tires/axles/etc. It also does not spin when the truck is under certain conditions while driving. The right side always pulls, but sometimes the right will be spinning while the left is the only one on the groung...not turning. What could likely be the culprit here.

Just so happens this is thesame crawler in the "losi strikes out again" thread, onlyI didn't know the rear diff. was stripped out :/ . Anyway so what's my best option, purchase a whole new diff. assembled and everything? Maybe I could try silly putty in the diff, like I used to do in my old e-maxx?

No it is just your locker that has gone most likely - The plastic ones are rubbish - check out rcbros.com and get some decent ones.

You don't need a whole diff - the mini doesn't have a full diff - It only comes with a spool.

Yes Maxx ownere, same one, I replaced the plastic piece inside the diff once, as it stripped out. Second time it stripped I couldn't get the diff apart to replace it. I put some glue in there and put it back together and it had been working for me.

check your e-mail, sent you something that should help

So, arct1k, is that an entire spool assembly at rcbros? I took it apart today to see how it was designed, and I can see how easy it would be for the plasic part the axleshafts slide into to strip. It would be nice to just get an entire spool as an assembly with the correct upgraded parts I can just drop right into the diff. case. Superglued it again for now.

FYI, e-revonut, I was able to get a servo saver I had lying around for my stampede to work for the broken servo horn. Works just as it should! So that is fixed.

Don't they make some wheelweights for these things?

Arct1k 08.11.2010 09:26 PM

Its not a complete spool iirc but its what you need.

Did you receive the payment I sent you for the hassle with the diff? I received the slash today. Only disappointment was the lack of a battery hold down. Threw a zip tie around a battery and ran it. Not a fan of the XL-5 esc, brakes suck! Other than that pretty happy.

mwe-maxxowner 08.11.2010 10:09 PM

Thanks, glad you like it. I may have the battery hold-down. I didn't realize it wasn't included, sorry about that. If I find it I will ship it to you. I lost a few parts on some of my current rc's I've been working on recently (room I work on them in is unbelievably cluttered at the moment) so sooner or later I have to find thos parts, and I'll keep my eye out for the battery holder. Lol gotta look up a pic of it so I can see what it looks like, I've forgotten. And yeah, I didnt like the xl-5 either, I'm used to BL, and it was just boring me. If I was gonna go in debt on BL and lipos, I wanna put it into my custom e-revo, which has a blown hv-maxx esc ...(anyone have one they wanna get rid of??)

BTW, ygpm.

Thanks arct1k, I'll have to look that up and get it for sure! And now the modding begins... :D

I think I'm gonna like crawling.

FYI I do have a hv maxx brushless system. Pm me an offer
