"C" Can XL

Hello,

I just noticed something I'd not seen before in the store, a Feigao 540C XL - what is this? How does it compare to the regular Feigao 540 8XL type motors? I can see the "C" can motor has a heat sync, does it also screw together? I popped two Feigao "L" series motors and since getting the RC Monster Heat Sync/can holder I'm all set.

How does the 540C XL compare with some of the BK XL motors?

Funny, when there was one choice I actually understood all this now I'm confused.

Thanks,

I think the C stands for car. These motors do have the heatsink can (which is nice), and the rear enbell screws on, and is held in place (to keep it from unscrewing) by a set screw. The 380C motors have removable front and rear endbells.
The 540C motors should perform just like 540 motors.

So is the XL like an XL Feigao? Is it monster truck big? Is it better in any way than the older ones?

The windings and the rotor should be exactly the same.

A week ago my new BK wanderer 12XL came in. here you can see a couple of pictures. On the pics you can see a comparison between a Feigao 7XL and the BK wanderer 12XL. The wanderer is bigger, has screws that prevent the endbell from popping off, 5,5 standard gold plugs with shrinkwrap, flat grinded shaft and has got better bearings than the Feigao 7XL.

That motor is VERY nice, im gonna get me a 540 C 9xl once my 10l goes:)

Jasper - Did you get that here from Mike? His listing for the BK XL motors doesn't show a picture like yours...

I want an XL, heatsync is a nice bonus, anti-can pop is essential.

Mike stocks them 540 C xl's on his site. I bet mike will get a pic of it on his site, but he used the original black 9l just for representation.

I think the c cans may be a little better for better heat transistion between the can and heat sink. If made together it is better transfer than two seperate pieces.

MetalMan 04.08.2006 03:26 PM

The can and the heatsink on the C motors are the same thing.

Mac, I didn't get it from Mike. I bought it from www.bk-electronics.com

Which in turn should disapate the heat a little better.

MetalMan 04.08.2006 04:03 PM

This style dissipates heat better than any heatsink that you could put onto the motor, as long as the materials are the same.

I wonder if the new wanderer's have segmented magnets now(doubtful for the price),there was talk of this a while ago.The new XLs are $160.

:002: I'm confused. Mike's got them labelled up as feigao motors, but jasper got his from bk. Plus the one in jasper's pic looks a completely different style to the one Mike's got up. I realise Mike's pic is of the L version as opposed to Jasper's XL, but shouldn't the two look similar? And shouldn't Mike's be labelled as bk rather than feigao?
