Need a new motor for your Prius?

Wow. :gasp:

They say it replaces a 2-cyl. 100cc engine... 70V max, 250A max.

You should put it in that little ATV you're riding. Direct-drive to the wheel should be fine.

Much

It does not look like much at all does it? I mean after all a two cylinder engine is not much to begin with, but that thing looks tiny in comparrison, plus the mounting bolts look pretty puney as well. Still if that motor has about 50HP (guessing???) it would be great in a small ATV or something similar. It would be cool to see some test platforms with this motor in use.

Try that in an electric go cart?

I've sourced brushless wheelchair controllers up to 48v and 100a. Two of these motors could make for a fun chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!:intello:

Or just use 5 lawn tractor batteries for simplicity. Still the question of which ESC...

Yeah, I figured out the click thing when I showed some guys at work. I thought this would be awesome in a beast from horizon... but then I realized what it would really mean to build an electric beast... the motor is the cheap part.

I started thinking the other day, what if we removed the rear brakes on a front wheel drive car and put one of those at each rear wheel. We have 4 wheel drive, we could use it to assist in braking, which is all rear brakes do, and we could use it to accellerate, which would help on gas mileage and make the car faster off the line. Even a standard brushless controller would do the trick because it has all those features already built in. I'm not sure why the car manufacturer's arent jumping all over this technology.

I think I might try it on my wifes car. hmmmmmmm.
