RCM mbx6 battery tray very small?
Hi guys,
I was looking at the RCM mbx6 conversion for my Mugen. I'm currently running the Tekno, but I'd like to go back to the stock. I've seen my mates RCM mbx6t and the COG was very low too and it weights less than the Tekno. The only problem I see is the battery tray dimension. I read it's only 50mm*145mm. My lipo are 49mm*149mm (spec sheet) soft and 53.5mm*152mm covered in ABS (real measurement). (hardcase of semi hardcase is required for our No Nitro cup so I coverd them with 1mm ABS). I can removed the underside of the semi hardcase, so only the top is coverd by ABS that's sticking out of the battery tray, but my battery will still be 4mm too big. I won't be buying new lipo's so I'm hoping there are other alternatives. All input is welcome! |
Just ask Mike for a custom battery tray. I have one on my E-Raze, fits my lipos like a glove.
54x152 should work well in your scenario. |

Just select custom tray and enter your maximum battery dimensions and if you'd like an ESC shelf. FYi Shipping may not be as fast as usual due to the move. |

I personally have my battery trays fit for each battery for that specific vehicle. Well worth the extra $ 12-IMO . It keeps the batteries from moving at all
Mike has made me seven custom trays over the last 3 yrs. I have been extremely happy with each |
You could just get the tray fit to the largest and use that high density foam that Castle packs their ESC's and Motors in. That stuff works like a charm for things like this. I am currently using a piece cut to size to help secure the 2s packs on my slash 4x4.

I see the mbx6 kits are back in stock and mailed Mike about the custom tray. I hope it will be possible.
