using a lipo Rx pack to power Rx and servo in a flux?
 
is it possible to use a reciver lipo to power my servo and and receiver? i just bought a new servo that will put out 486oz of torque at 7.4v but i think the MMM only lets it go to 6.0. and if possible how do you know if your receiver can handle it as well? or does that matter i know you have to have a voltage regular says so right on the lipo reciever battery what would be a good one to get me my 7.4 cause when there fully charged its like 8. somthing. and do these voltage regulars have a low voltage cut off? im just wondering would like to take full advange of the torque, it puts out 406 oz at 6.0 but why not try for the rest of the 80, lol.

and one more question would it be worth it?

Its fine or would be even easier to use a Castle BEC - Just get a small 3" servo extender and remove the red wire from it.

Then place the servo extended between the ESC and the RX.

Yes, go for the external BEC. You already have a 4-6S lipo voltage source powering the Flux, might as well just step it down and have a constant 7.4V for the RX and servo. Using a 2S RX pack will take more room, add another thing that you need to charge, will not be a constant voltage, and will require an external LVC device.

I don't know what brand of radio you have, Spektrum RX's can handle up to ~9V, not sure about other brands.

i have an airtronics mx-3 FG. can you use diffenct Rx with different radios, like a speckrium Rx and a airtronics radio? that sounds easier to a bec so just cut the red wire if i use on? and how do i set up the 7.4v to the servo? thanks.

I would not cut the wire as you need it for programming - Thats why i would use a small servo extender and cut the wire on that :)

oh ok sorry was confused for a second got it :) i noticed in the diagram that he has the bec connected to the red and black wires on the esc but cc has them connected to a battery of a multi-battery pack they both correct? and im using a series adaptor do i need to do anything different?


do you or anybody know if you can use an airtronics radio with a speckrum Rx? then i would just buy a rx and keep my radio. cause i just read the manual to my rx and its only rated to 6.0 i would fry it or is it time to get a new radio that will handle the 7.4v?

You must use a spektrum transmitter with the spektrum Receiver

Spektrum rx's are rated for 9.8 or 12 volts if I recall..

so i would have to buy a whole new set then bummer guess im using just 6.0v for now till i can get a new radio and rx. well that sucks, :lol:

does somebody know what the MMM esc puts out is it 4.8v or 6.0 cause if its 4.8v the i will get the bec so i can at least get the 6.0v for now till i can get a spectrum?
