Thats the one I've recommending to half the traxxas and BYT forums- great little radio if you just want something basic.

thats exactly it,
i'm looking for something basic and economical, and anything is better than the stock 27mhz i currently use :) gonna paint it black and white, rather than orange, should look sweet too :D main thing for me is the cheap receivers :D |
Thats the same 2.4 radio Redcat includes with their largescales. You might be able to jump on a Redcat forum and get one really cheap. If im not mistaken the Redcat ones are Blue.

i have the one from the company that makes them. you can find them on ebay for cheaper than you can get it at HK for. |
Great basic radio and receivers are so cheap. My friend uses the same radio on his buggy and his drifter. Since I do most of the repairs on his vehicles I do get to test drive them quite a bit. Radio works very well and the range is excellent. The only thing that pisses me off is that the two LEDs on top of the radio are very bright. So bright that they sometimes annoy me. I like to hold my radio up to my chest when I drive and the LEDs are just a tad annoying. Easy fix is a piece of electrical tape over the top and no issues. If I wasn't so stocked up on Spektrum gear I would probably own these.

i have that exact radio and it has replaced all my other radios including my jr xs3. this little ~25$ radio works better than my $150 jr radio. the only thing you can't so with it is change any settings besides steering and throttle trim.
gotta love those $6 receivers. |
I sprayed painted mine black and put some well placed r/c stickers on it, now people at the track ask "what radio is that?" Well it also runs on lipo with a low volt alarm and two strips of blue l.e.d.s for indirect lighting. The kids around the track like the looks at least.

i power my current tx with a lipo too :)
any chance i could get some pic's of the lights? sounds... interesting :P |
I have one of those from Hobby King. It's a FANTASTIC radio! Well worth every penny. I haven't been able to get it to glitch at all, and I can drive till I can't see the car. Has a nice charge port built into the side, though idk what kind of circuitry it uses because it kinda messes with my peak charger that I use to charge the 1000mAH AA's I have in it. It might work better with just a constant 12v or how ever much it needs.
What is the name of these radios that you can get cheaper on eBay? I really want another one for my RC boat, but I hate paying more than the cost of the item in shipping -.- Got an eBay link? Thanks, Brijar!!! |
I dunno about ebay, but you can get the same radio in a few different colorschemes from hobbypartz.com
http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-g2-24ghz-radio.html http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-gt2-24ghz-radio-black.html There is also the black & white version from redcat, might be harder to locate. |
Sure Bazzoka,
One thing bad about these is the battery tray will warp and melt easy, when charging Nimh installed. Thats why I had to go Lipo, my contact springs melted threw the side of the battery tray. oops.:oh: http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...rcstuff004.jpg http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...rcstuff003.jpg v Buzzer button v http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...rcstuff002.jpg E-Jato HK-gt2 Theme  http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/n...i/DSC08117.jpg |
loving it :P whats with the buzzer button tho?
i went lipo on my stock 27mhz long ago :) makes it so much cheaper to run :) the orange is actually growing on me :P seen this from ansmann? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFun...n&ItemID=36914... hmmmm familiar? reckon they sell the case separately? |
