could it be a defective mmm?
i have been having very wierd probelms with my blur system in the vorza, it seems to take lots of power out of one battery in a very short period of time :oh:
i just went out wiht the vorza with freshly charged battery. for the first 10 seconds it was running normally but then after that the power decreased rapidly to a rate were the car was at a walking passe. at first i though it migh of been the throttle curve or somthing but then i checked the voltage's of the batterys and 1 battery was at 8.2v and the other at 6.7v (1st cell 3.29 and the 2nd at 3.41)!!!!:surprised: i have no idea how this could of happend and i am 100% sure that before i started they were both at 8.4v and perfectly balanced this has happen to me on several occasions with different batterys but usual what happens is the car runs fine through the whole pack but when i go to charge it its below 6.2v! can someone please help? thanks |
Ive had this happen before. I restored it to factory settings, then I made my adjustments, and instead of useing 3.4v lvc I went to 3.5v and the problem went away. I know it sounds crazy, but its true lol. This was with the flux esc from the savage, but in my revo..

How would the MMM pull power from one lipo and not the other, When wired as on big pack through two wires to the MMM. (3s2P or 6s1p) This was easy to explain with the old EVX that had two plugs and four wires. To me it looks like a lipo or connector problem.

Fudge! Thats not a good sign. Did you try flipping it the bird, tapping your finger on it or curse words?

The batts are wired in series through one set of wires- if one pack is dropping it's voltage rapidly then you have weak batts- are they the same age/mah/C rating/ brand etc?

I've seen this before on some Monster setups when wired in series; maybe 3 or 4 times. It makes absolutely no sense because as far as the controller is concerned, you are running one battery. It doesn't have the ability to drain power from one battery and not the other.
The craziest part is when you switch position on the series harness, the problem doesn't follow the battery, it stays on the same connection on the series (it was always on the positive side); I'm assuming that's what's happening here. Honestly I could never figure out the issue, even different sets of batteries didn't fix the problem. My only solution was to send it in for repair. I wish I had a better answer, but this is one of those "ghost in the machine" kind of things that can make you pull your hair out; and when logic fails in troubleshooting, abandon all hope...and send in the cursed part for repair. I'm not sure what HPI's replacement policy is on the Blur. You could send it to us if all else fails; our non-warranty fee on a Mamba Monster is $70.00. It includes the replacement controller, shipping back to you and a new one year warranty through Castle. It just won't have the Dean's connectors wired in series; so be sure to remove them from your Blur before you send it back and just reattach them to the new controller. also my blur doesnt get recognized any more by my computer, the cable does but not the system even though the lights on the blur flash, is there a fix for this?
