BK Warrior 9920 Brake Fade fix?
I have a BK Warrior 9920 + Feigeo 9L, which I got about 3-4 years ago from RC-Monster. Since day one it has had brake fade (brakes stop working at the hint of the ESC getting any warmth). I didn't drive it much so i didn't care.
However, I'm driving it a lot now and it's a dangerous proposition to drive my 11 lb e-maxx with no brakes. Since it is no longer under warranty, and I don't feel it is worth the expense to send it in for repairs, i was curious: Is there a specific component that I can replace that will fix the brake fade? I have tried contacting BK directly, but I have not heard back. I have worked with surface-mount components before, so I am confident I could replace said part... if I only knew which one? I have tried putting a fan on it, but that just delays the brake fade for a few minutes. |
BKs are so ancient, its not worth the effort or expense of trying to fix it really. Join us in the 21st centuray and get yourself a nice MMpro or MMM etc :mdr:

I had the same problem with my Micro 18120 back in the day. I then used it in a Revo conversion and used the Brake servo and mechanical brakes instead. I have since gotten rid of that setup long time ago... |
I wish I could afford a new one :(
I've read on this forum that people have replaced the FETs... so I hope there is a component I can replace. I was thinking of having a mechanical brake, but the expense of doing that would be better spent on a new ESC. Plus I love reverse :) The system has tons of power, so if I could just fix the darn brakes... |
