O ya 1 more thing. The 8xl has the 5.5 mm pins (I think). Wouldnt it be a better connection if it was direct soldered into the connectors like you do with planes??

its under the shrinkwrap, kinda under the red jumper. you found the red jumper, didn't you?

J Cates 04.10.2006 09:28 PM

The black jumper is behind the red one towards the center of the esc, you will have to cut some of the heat shrink to get to it.

fishmasterdan 04.10.2006 09:33 PM

Found the ORANGE one. Its right under the red battery lead. I dont want to cut away to much of the shrink to find that darn black jumper.

Is it the smaller bulge sticking out near the larger square one?

squeeforever 04.10.2006 09:54 PM

yes, the large square is off to the left right? the jumper should be right beside it kinda off to the right. should start right behind where the red stops except off to the left towards the center but still on the right side. sorry if i made it complicated by trying to simplify it...

Those 5.5mm connectors are rated at 200amps continuous. Deans are rated at 60amps. Deans have a lower resistance than a peice of 12 gauge wire the same length as them, so I wouldn't worry too much about the 5.5mm gold connectors.....

Good Point maxxdude.

you could allways do what I did...pull the red wire out of the plug on the end and tape it back to the wire itself...or by the shortest servo lead ext. you can and cut the red wire out of the plug itself.....that way you don't even mess wit hthe black jumper or even with the red wire on the lead from the controller...

There is a pic some where around the forum of a 9920 and where the black jumper is. I think it was posted by papa.

fishmasterdan 04.11.2006 05:06 PM

I found it thanks for the the help.
For future refrence it is right behind the red jumper on the bottom.
The red jumper is actually orange and is located right below the RED wire.

As far as the connectors go I will save the money on the 5.5 connectors and direct solder to the motor. It seems to me it is a better connection.

I have had the red jumper be red and purple. I guess as long as it is not black it works out. ;)
