locktite on g2r
got my g2r chassis today and need to know if i should use locktite on every screw metal to metal)?
Do not, they will be a pain to get out after, but you could use them on the grub screws for the center shafts.
I do - metal to metal - i always have - just dont use red if you decide to - blue is plenty good -
HnC.... So you use loctite on basicly every screw on the g2r chassis(apart from metal-to-plastic? Explain why?
ya you dont want to use the red locktight lol HNC thats going to take lots of patience and time to get those screws out after. i used locktight(blue) on my engine head and seams to hold nicely and shouldn't be a pian after to take of the head.
I don't have a g2r but do have the gmaxx. I like to use the blue loctite on the screws. They will back out and lose them on a good run. You don't have to kill the screws when using the loctite either.
yea, ill be back soon guys, i got a bit of loctiting to do:)
i thought that i should, i just wanted to make sure. thats all i use is blue.
ok then go and lock tight the screws but i would just perfer to locktight he screws that loosen alot. like sylvester said the grub screws for example.
I have put screws in with out the loctite and was not able to get them out. I killed them with the torque. I learned not to tighten as tight and put a little blue loctite works alot better.
I use the blue locktite as well. I think it will also prevent galling and seizing as well
I have always practiced the metal to metal loctite. I have missed some when i did my first emaxx - wasnt too long to find the ones i didnt locktite - either they were gone - or sticking out and bent from scraping ( chassis )
i got a gorillamaxx and use red loctite and boy am i in trouble i have threaded the heads of the screws . red hold to good dont make my mistake
