Looks like a TenT on a 8ight chassis with buggy wheels.

3.4 powered, smallblock. I would guess its a longer chassied tenT, going by their site side by side

I like the price(419.99).I hope it has interchangeable parts with the 8ight buggys

Losi LST2 09.23.2010 05:08 PM

I think one of these and the 4x4 SC that they are prototyping are going to be my arsenl for next summer

has no interchangable parts with the 8ight.....it's pretty much a 10t with a few different parts...Horizon hobbies preveiw says there is less then 15 different part numbers between this and the 10t

there was talk of releaseing a lighter weight small block powered 8th scale buggy to race with and win the fuel mileage game by a huge margin without being terribly down on power due, i believe it was drake talking about this a couple years ago in some interview saying they were thinking of running small blocks to get nearly a %50 increase in fuel mileage which is a big deal at the pro level.

so i wander if we'll see a pro version raced by some of the team drivers just to see if its possible to not be at a disadvantage with a smallblock powered 8th scale.

and this is for sure the base of their knew sc truck, which i dont think is very fair because then it will open up the whole can of worms about not allowing 8th scale based trucks race with the slash, jammin, and hyper. Case in point an sc8 with an rc8 chassis is not legal but losi's new 810 with bumpers and sc body will be???? ......

slimthelineman 09.23.2010 08:35 PM

wheelbase is almost 3/4" shorter than the 2.0 and overall length is about 2" shorter than the 2.0 according to losi website. like the sub 6 pound wieght, but smacks of losi's long habbit of frankenstien cars made up of older models and radom leftover parts. good entry level gasser but dont call it an 1/8 scale if its obviously smaller. i agree with the sc comment above, make your own "origional" sc that follows the same rules everyone else abides by. close freind has an sc8 w/buggy chassis and club races it. complete advantage over any sc on the track.

Do you not realize that this is based off of the 10t which is a 1/10 scale truck...a SC based off of the 10t would be perfectly legal.. the sc8 and ones based off of the rc8 just straight up don't fit in the 1/10 rules....it has NOTHING to do with how the truck is built...it is about size!

They called it a 1/8 because it fits into all of the specifications for the ROAR 1/8 class.....doesn't mean it has to be the same size as the other buggies.

This buggy would be awesome on short tight tracks because it's a little bit shorter

Erevocanuck 09.23.2010 09:33 PM

pretty much a ten-10 version of a 1/8 buggy

that being said, what the hell? how can you use a platform for two completely different classes and call it legal? not only that, i still think its lame they just remarket leftover parts from an older design as a "new" car. and if it were all about size and the rc8 based sc's being too big(hard to believe, wheelbase is identical to a 1/10sc) how would it be fair to race a 1/8 scale thats 10% smaller and two pounds lighter than any others on the market? and if it doesnt have to be the same size as the other buggies why does the sc have to? make no sense at all. typical roar stuff, smacks of kickbacks if you ask me.....

rootar 09.23.2010 10:58 PM

easy killers, i think they just shouldnt call it an 8th scale..... call it a 9th scale or somthing if its not the same size as the eight i thought it was the same size i didnt bother reading much on it.

im also taking 1000mg of vicodin and 100mg of tramadol every 6 hours so ive been kinda out of my head since surgery tuesday.

they should call it the Nine-B.

Ok, one....the 10t is a fairly new platform so what do you expect?...companies can't afford to make a brand new car every time they release something...look at 1:1 manufacturers....they all use interchangeable parts.

And the rc8 in the SC class has the issue of being to BIG...not to small....nowhere in the rules is there a MINIMUM size....there is only a MAXIMUM size

And last time i checked lighter buggies would be at a disadvantage because they will be harder to keep the power down and will slide alot.....

If you read some info from losi or watch horizons video's this was NOT meant to be a race vehicle, it was meant to be a budget friendly 1/8 rtr buggy. so why are you complaining about it being to "small"(hard to be too small when there is no minimum size requirements) for?....i HIGHLY doubt that you are going to see people going out and buying these to compete in racing events

rootar 09.23.2010 11:04 PM

if they named it the nine b they can take the thing and make it into whatever the heck they want to next.... but i was saying others will raise hell because its labeled as a 8th scale .... i honestly dont care

id rather the sc class be some what different than racing my 8th buggy, maybe they should outlaw center diffs, thatd make it a little more interesting.
