Jammin CRT x1 dual battery tray help

Hello all
I am really thinking about flipping my rc monster mount around and setting up for rear dual lipos for balance and runtimes.
So here are my questions.
Has anyone done this? if so let me see pics please.
What trays did u use"measurements"? which ones do u recommend.
I plan on running dual 4s 5000 with my 2200 shooting for 20 minutes mains wide open.
Gearing 46 spur and 11 pinion
Please give thoughts and opinions!

It works - I ran a dual setup on my X1CR and still do on my HyperST.

Just rotate the centre diff - No "need" to drop to 46T you could just space up the CD.

Only concern is thats a lot of battery at the back...

I agree with Arct1k, two 4S 5A packs is about 1 KG of LiPo weight in the back. I don't think it will help your handling, especially when cornering and in air control.

20 minutes full out on a electric is a challenge .. normally I get about 15 minutes on 4A 5A on 2200kv. You have the possibility to use higher voltage? Perhaps you could fill 20 minutes with a 6S 5A on a 1520? This should be an efficient set-up if you can gear low enough. A 1520 is more efficient than a 1515 and the voltage increase should gain you some lower A draw thus longer run times. I'm no expert, it's just a brain fart.

I hv tried 6s 5000 on a medusa 1600kv can last 28mins. Single pack.

Dual lipos

Got my hands on a Losi 1300kv and a 6s 5800 lipo.
Man that lipo is a brick.
So I don't think I will go dual packs. From what I have read this should give me 20 easy with the same gearing

Yes it will be longer than 20mins.

Finished a 20 min main

Yeah the 1300kv and the 6s 5800 went the distance. Lipo took back 4350 on the charge. So I may try a 6s 4500 or 5000 to save a little weight
Motor came off a little to hot for my liking 186. In the one heat I ran it hit 130-140.
I had my Jammin gear 11/46 like I said to much heat for my liking.
Even testing around the house with that gearing produced 130-140 on the motor.
Yesterday I dropped a 10t pinion and man did it make a difference take off great and temps have been about 112 degrees.
I'm going to the track tomorrow and run it hard to see if temps stay down.
I hope it's not a bad motor I got it used for a steal of a price.
I'll let you know how it went

superek4 10.14.2010 12:55 AM

What motor is it?

Winstoncup 10.14.2010 09:24 AM

It's the Losi 1300kv. It seems to run a lot better with the lower gearing 10/46 for 35 mph. It seems to have a lot more snap off the line than the 11t pinion and the 46 spur hitting 38.I know it's only 3mph difference but brushless and nitro motors can be hit or miss like that.
Due u think my heat was due to over gearing the truggy because it has buggy gearing ratio?

superek4 10.14.2010 09:28 AM

Did u change your diff ring to x2? If never then you may hv a issue. As the internal gear ratio is messed up.

Winstoncup 10.14.2010 10:09 AM

No I have not. So what kind of problems I'm I n for. Is this the cause of my heat issues.
Will lower gearing help.
I don't want to change internal diff gears

superek4 10.14.2010 10:42 AM

What's your motor n esc temp? 10 pinion is too small. Wear rate is high.

Winstoncup 10.14.2010 11:07 AM

I can't remember esc temp buy battery was fine. Geared 11/46 motor temp was 180s after 20 mins and power did seem to fall off. Do u think I need to gear up and to what.
I have a 14,15 and 16 on hand.
Don't get me wrong the 10 tooth is pretty fast

superek4 10.14.2010 11:33 AM

180 is fine. So don't worry. 10-12 is good but the higher the pinion the higher the temp.

Winstoncup 10.14.2010 03:42 PM

Thanks. I hope with the 10t brings me temps round 160-170
