Motor Mount Options

Do we have any mount options other than the FLM mount which they dont sell individually? I'm not too confident in grinding down the stockers myself or trying to grind the fins off the 1518.

3" angle iron will work. 3/16" to 1/4" thick.

I'm still waiting on my 1717 to arrive to finish up my 2nd one.

Here's the first one I made out of some square tube metal. Ugly, but it works.

I bought the FLM mount as a separate item a while back. Got it in the savage but have yet to finish it. I just emailed them and the reply was yes and $x + freight and this was to Australia.
Send them an email.

They sell it separate. Only $38

Just realized I'd have to mod the mount plate to fit it. I guess I'm going to put my Dremel skills to the test this weekend and make a mount like Bmr4life

Bondo made it work with the FLM mount. I have a machine shop and scrap metal at my job so I figured I'd find a way to make one there.

Thats pretty decent looking actually, just needs a bit of a sanding down the rough edges & a polish...:intello:

Yeah, that was plain steel. I found some 3" angle stainless steel that I'll be using for the next one. I'm not making any more cuts or holes until my 1717 arrives, whenever that will be. The piece on the right is the twin of the first one I made. Made two just incase I screwed something up.

After thinking about it, I want to stick to the stock motor mount. Other than GCM is there anybody else that bores these stock Flux mounts?

Updated pictures of my second mount since my 1717 finally arrived.

Still have to drill and tap the bottom.

looks damn good Bmr4life, wanna make another to sell?

Bmr4life 10.14.2010 09:08 PM

I'm still finishing this one up. I decided to make new slots in the bottom plate and use 1/4-28 bolts after breaking a 4mm tap. :)

If I get some extra time I'll try to make a 2nd one.

I might try my luck with making one this weekend. I've been grinding down my motor fins but it's taking longer than I thought.

What are you grinding them down for? Is it possible for the 1717 to fit the stock mounts?

I'm fitting a 1518 in the stock mount to see if that works out for me.

I need to make an L mount for when my 1717 comes in though.
