Pinion Gear... Is this worn?
Before you say anything, YES IM A HUGE NOOB.
This is probably one of the first times opening up a diff, or actually looking into gear internals. I'm retarded. Anyways... I took a look at the pinion, not sure if it's machined like this (Kinda goes down) then it LOOKS like it's wore down.. Anyways, here's the pictures in question.. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4724.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4723.jpg Here's the rest of my findings.. A bearing that is now in very bits of pieces.. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4721.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4722.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4720.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g6...4/IMG_4725.jpg It certainly looks like it's worn, except I'm not 100% sure since I've never opened up such stuff.. I still need to crack open the front diff and tranny to take a looksee on any other wearing parts.. I guess this is the downside of running a Medusa 36-50-3300kV on 4S in this baby.. I also need some new grease to make it all happy, any suggestions? |
I'd Say So... Looks like %20 left... Mesh it with that ring gear... It should be full contact..
