1520 in Muggy
I have a 1717 and would like to know if the 1520 would be a good alternative motor in a Muggy?
It seems that the 1717 would require a good 6s battery, would the 1520 be good to use with a 4s or 5s? |
I use a 5s and 1520 in my truggy and it throws it around with ease so 5s in a Muggy would do nicely IMO
|
Yep... the 1520 does very well on 5s... just gear it appropriately... you'll have lots of torque to play with, and really good top end... have a look at the this thread - Talk 1520 - your experiences
|
So why isnt everyone recommending 6S on the 1520? Wouldnt it run even better since the kv is a bit low?
|
Define better? they are quite a few people running 1520s on 6s .... did you look at the link above? We were answering the question 'would the 1520 be good to use with a 4s or 5s?'
... i personally don't see the need to run this motor on 6s at this time in my setup (11lbs +)... This motor is killer on 5s and the temps are just fine... It is just sick on 6s... they are some vids in that thread with 6s powered machines... so have a look. Alien |
so 1520 in a Muggy on 5s is good? Thanks Mag & Angry! I just need a good 5s battery now and another mmm esc.
Yo Angry, dude that gorillamaxx is pretty tight! |
thanks... but it's not a gorilla:lol:... it's based off the FLM chassis layout with custom carbon fiber upper and lower decks... I don't think you'll be disappointed with 1520...
i am still all smiles when i see this thing accelerate off the line... Alien |
