motor mount screws
 

i've got an lmt 1950 motor that will be mounted to a traxxas emaxx motor plate that is 4mm thick. add 2.5mm for the depth of the hole in the motor. add .2mm for the thickness of the washer. do i need a 6.7mm long screw. where can i get a length like this? please help.

do i just use 2 or 3 washers to compensate for a screw that is to long?

If you have a Dremel, you could cut the screw down. As opposed to using extra washers, this method will provide a stronger hold.

if you do that just remember to put a nut on it before you cut it shorter so when you cut it you can unscew if and clean up the threads.
