esc/motor cooling fan

I'm looking to put a small fan on my motor (9L) and possibly my esc (9918).

Will these fans work?:

With my current receiver setup, I have the UBEC hooked up to a switch harness, which goes in the battery slot in the receiver. Still currently using all 3 channels/slots on the stock receiver..so could I use one of these?:

Can I use that Y-harness with its male connector going into the 3rd channel and with the fans above and the shifting servo going into the females?

I guess my main concerns, to sum it up are:
1. Will those fans work with the stock receiver, powered through the receiver/ubec?
2. Will that Traxxas Y-adapter work with the fan and shifting servo using the 3rd channel?

Thanks!

Everything looks okay! On the receiver, all of the positive pins are connected to each other, and same with the negative pins. So, you could hook up the fans or UBEC through the y-harness going into any channel.

Thanks MetalMan!

BTW..would anyone know how many volts those fans are rated at? And what size are they? The TH info doesn't say much..so just curious :D

My guess is that they are rated at 5volts, just because they are made to plug into the receiver where the voltage is 5-6volts.

Yeah, I would say they are just standard 40mm x 40mm 5v fans with a futaba connector.

Thanks. That's what I figured... :)

I went to my LHS today and saw the Associated fans in person. They are SMALL!

What size fans are people using on their motors (I have a 9L with the RCM Heatsink/Clamp)? The small ones would look kinda funny on a motor that size...LOL :D

Where can I get fans that are prewired to go into the receiver's slot?

btw..what size fan do ppl use for the motor? 40mm?

Thanks combat! Are the "two pin socket connectors" male servo/receiver connectors? Or would I have to change them?

Judging by the pin spacing, I'd say the connector is a standard PCB connector, so yes, you'll have to change them. You can cut the existing connector off the fan, pick up a connector pigtail of a $1 or so, and solder the wires together.
