Large tires & slow speed

awhile back with one of the online "garage sales" i picked up some tires that turned out to be 7" and weigh over a pound each, but they were so cheap i had to get some of them

so... if i install these tires on a rc8t or a converted 3.3 revo and gear for 20-30 am i still asking for trouble.

with the rc8t i can gear for around 23mph as lowest

with the revo 3.3 i can also gear for around 23 as well

i do want the low speed and huge tires but i also would like to keep my drive train and diffs intact

i have 3s 4s 5s for power and 10t, 13 ,15 ,18 tooth pinions so i have options

any suggestions or previous experience would be helpful

those speeds sound good to me for large tires gearing for 40 + mph is where you get in trouble, depending on you motor choice 6s would ideal if you choose a low kv motor, your drivetrain should be fine with those speeds

What tires are they?

you should be able to gear up to about 30mph without any issues. i ran some heavy 7" tires on my flux geared for 40mph and everything stayed cool.....until i used my SMC 9000mah 2s lipos. everything was still cool except the lipos. they swelled quite a bit (as usual). my turnigy 30c batteries barely got warm as usual.

I'll post pictures soon, looks funny but should work well. they are Hot Bodies slayer wheels v block tires, and UFO wheels psycho tires

anyone ever run 3s geared low in a MT under 20 or is that a strain somewhere, electronics or motor?

I don't think you'll have any problems at under 30mph.

I think a 3s pack would be OK if it's ~4500mAH/30C or better. It would be a bit of an amp-hog. If you have a higher-voltage option, use it.
