Neu dyno chart?

I was looking at the Neumotors site, and I couldn't find any dyno info on the 1717, 1520, 1527, etc. And I was wondering, does anyone have any info on these motors? Wattage, foot-pounds of torque, estimated HP and such on their max voltages of course..

Well the 1717 and 1520 technically aren't Neu motors, they are Castle motors based on the Neu design that Castle has licensed. So info about those wouldn't be listed on the Neu Motors website. You'd have to talk to Castle and see if they have the dyno data.

As for the 1527, not sure why they don't have the dyno data. My guess is they just do a sample of their motors to show they are powerful and efficient, and don't post dyno data of all of them. Have you tried contacting Neu and asking for the data?

Of course you can find the max rated wattage and voltage for all these motors, but you are looking for dyno charts, correct?

Yes. Looking for HP rating and torque specifically. I just sent Neu an email now. Thanks.

If you have the wattage rating, you can figure the hp.

1HP = 746 watts

Neu 1527.

Continuous = 2250 watts = 3hp.

Burst = 4500 watts = 6hp.

That's extreme.

I've logged 4.85hp on my 1527 - its very powerful - the perfect motor for my 19lb buggy:

Awesome, and still 2s to go I guess, atleast? I'm guessing you have a 1250 or lower kv, so it's possible with 12s atleast.

:lol:

Nope - I have no plans to run 12s - it's almost uncontrollable on 8s or 10s geared for 50-55mph. (and yes, it's 1.5y 825kv)

Ah. 6hp sounds atleast possible then. That's pretty insane. Instant 6hp. :O

These motors are starting to become somewhat dangerous.. IE, if you use a rotten pinion and accidentally hit 100% throttle up to 60k RPM and then hit the brakes, the shrapnel will fly. :p
