Looking for odds and ends to build a christmas present!

Hey Rc-monster.

Been gone at college for a while but figured I would drop by.
Im working on building up a buggy for my 14 year old partner in crime Michael white... This time last year we got him a 4x4 slash and he loves in and got hooked to the sport! But now his driving is getting better he is realizing that his 4x4 slash wont keep up with my BL truggy  So I have decided to build him an 8th scale buggy for christmas. Its a Sportwerks Mayhem. while chit chatting with a racing buddy I stumbled across 2 incomplete cars in one of his mountains of rc junk and saw potential. I picked up both of the cars for a song and a dance (thats high dollar for college folk)

Looking for a few more bits to finish it up. Between the two chassis I have most of the car itself already
Wondering if anyone has anything sitting forgotten in a drawer that they would like to donate.

Looking for:
8x16 bearings
set of 4 17mm hubs
Set of wheels and tires
A motor (dont think a traxxas vxl will cut it)

Thanks for reading. heres a picture of michael and his 4wd slash.

Thanks,

Im assuming this is your brother you are building a buggy for? I got my little brother into the sport as well. He never got into it as much as i did though. Good luck on your parts quest!

A very close cousin. Basically a brother :)

Thanks Josh

Ben I may have a nip set of buggy bowtie tires you can have...mind you they have been sitting for 3 yrs in the package....not sure of the rims. I will check and let you know in the am or by the afternoon at the latest.

This is a very nice gesture you are doing...well done

Thanks magman, When i got into rc i went through all the phases that ended up going horribly wrong, trying to prevent that and teach the boy how to drive also.. hes got a good hand on it but jumping is a task as hes trying to lean to jump a 4x4 slash ie kite with wheels.
:)

If the mayhem buggy is anything like my mayhem st (just built it for my nephew's xmas gift) you can use hexes made for the Savage x, xl, flux, etc (not E-Savage though). I used 17mm stock style ones with the big flanged nuts because I had them around, but any hex or hex kit made for Savage will fit.

It uses standard 8mm hubs, needs standard buggy 17mm hubs with a through hole for the cross pin :)

Thanks

I have a $10 certificate for Ebay that needs to be used up before Dec. 10th. Feel free to find something that totals $10 shipped (might be able to find hexes or bearings?) and I'll buy and have shipped to you. I know it's not much, but it's what I can offer. PM me if interested.

Arct1k Came through in a big way for the project and donated a hpi flux 2650kv motor and a set of tires. Thanks chris!

What diameter is the CV shaft? I have a set of new 17mm hubs that I can donate if they will work. Give me that measurement and I will see if I have the correct ones you need, they were out of package when I got them so I really don't know what they go to.

brushlessboy16 12.07.2010 01:49 PM

The stub shafts are standard 8th scale 8mm diameter. the hubs would be 8mm ID. :)
